Sisterhood of the Scarves- today's find

To all my YLF Sisterhood of the Scarves members: Looky-

I was out running errands today and my car--which has a mind all its own- turned into the parking lot of the consignment shop the next town over.
I purchased 3 scarves -the first 2 had still had original tags and the 3rd is a replacement (close enough) of a gray, blue, white and black print that I lent to someone and never got back (yes- stupid I know!)

I watch with continued interest all the great looks we are seeing from those that wish to join the sisterhood -YAY- everybody is welcomed!

Hope pic works and is not gigantic- flying solo today since DH is away helping my DB

How fun you found such lovely scarves all at once! I particularly like the first one - great colours and pattern. How big are they and what shape?

Beautiful, I love the shimmery quality. My body also has a mind of its own when passing a thrift store, but I have gotten a lot of good items that way!

I had to break out my extra long tape measure!
The first (various blue swirls on white)- is 80 X 27- How many times can I loop that around my neck ???
The "replacement " one of blue and gray is 72 X 13- odd size don't you think- but I am not complaining as I missed my first one terribly and this will make a smashing replacement!
The bright multi-color silk is 36 square and the colors just make we smile- I sang at the top of my lungs all the way home (thank goodness it is cold and windy here so the car windows were up- no one wants to hear me sing-lol)
Carol- no no no- it is not my body.... it's MY CAR that has a mind of its OWN..... that is my story and I am sticking with it-LOL! I have had pretty good luck finding brand new scarves on consignment- I get the idea that some folks get frustrated and give up or just don't try - all good- I'll take them. Did have to pass up 2 beautiful RL tops- just a little off in fit- boo hoo.

Sometimes I will be saying “do not take off ramp to the shopping center” repeatedly but then my car doesn’t listen either

You see - I was right!!! It is not the body....IT'S THE CAR- definitely the car! LOL
Smittie-I always talk to my car- fortunately it doesn't answer and I thank you and Barbara for the "back up" or as my dear old Dad use to say about us kids- "One lies and the other swears to it"-LOL.
Aurore, Cardiff and Sterling thanks for the compliments also, I love the swirls and colors too. Since I wear mostly solid basics, I use the scarves to add "print" value, pops of color and sometimes texture.

Mainelady- Thanks for the suggestion. I am one of those people that thank my plants in the garden when I harvest, and the grass when I mow the lawn and the trees when they hold a filled bird feeder. But I never thought to thank my car for taking me to the consignment store -lol. Do you think if I do, I will get there more frequently??? Will my singing affect the car's performance ......in a negative way????

The white with blue swirls and the blue with gray are extra long and on the skinny side but not skinny skinny. The real colorful one is a 36 inch square- smaller than I normally buy outright but I will make do because it’s so pretty and colorful as was a steal. They all were- the girl who checked me out said someone dropped the ball in pricing- she was 100 % right on that point. Hey- if they are gonna drop the ball on scarves- I will gladly pick it up. Thanks

I knit but not as good as I wish- in fact tonight I hosted our knitting group ( varies between 10-13). We meet every Friday night rotating houses. A little wine a little junk food a lot of laughs! The group calls me their token crocheter-lol. I actually specialize in Tunisian crochet which looks exactly like knitting ( the group’s really great knitters can not tell difference in looking at sweaters I have made.)But occasionally they will drag me into knit projects- have knitted 2 wallaby sweaters- great pattern, a few hats, failed miserably at sock- boo hoo. But I have been sewing, crocheting and needlework for well over 50 years. Crochet wise I am a big fan of Sheryl Thies and Danish expert Sys Fredens- both have terrific patterns and works.
