Silver Tunic - honest opinions please

I very rarely wear this tunic; I bought it two years ago and for some reason I feel like a BEACON when I wear it. Please let me know what you think, how you would style this, and also what kind of occasion this would be good for (if any).

I would find this a bit loud to wear on its own. Have you tried it with another layer over the top, like a vest or a cardi?

Seems a bit dressy for every day wear, but I think with the right layers it could work. Maybe a black pencil skirt and a denim jacket? It fits you very well, though!

It has balloon sleeves, so it would have to be something more like a vest, but yeah, I see what you mean.

I actually think it's quite pretty! I second the pencil skirt, or maybe some dressy black pants. Have you tried it with a different belt?

Now, where to wear it? Um...I'm not sure.

I love this top! How about adding short jean jacket over top and add a big statment necklace, and you are ready for coffee with a friend!

Cocktails with a black pencil skirt and patent-inspired accessories. I looove very feminine pieces and details, so personally, I think the shirt is great as is.

I think it's beautiful on you with your hair back like that. I like the simple, yet beautiful hairdo with the quite simple, yet beautiful top.
I agree that with something over it like a beautiful vest or jacket it is stunning. It's stunning as is but if you feel like a beacon you just need to tone it down. Perhaps long casual necklaces would do the trick too.
I think a vest buttoned up so that the bottom hem and the sleeves of the top show only. Perhaps a charcoal colored knitted vest to really make it more casual.
It's definately worth saving. It looks so good on you.

This top is really quite my style, I would team the top with black skinny jeans, a pair of cage shoes for a bit of edge and wear it for a night at a restaurant or bar.

Does the belt detach? I would play around with different belts if it does detach.

I actually think it's very nice on you! It doesn't strike me as daytime wear, though. I'd try it with skinny black pants or a pencil skirt for evening.

It would be great for an evening out. I'd find a black jacket with 3/4 sleeves so the end of the balloon sleeves stick out, and then dress is down a bit with dark denim and killer heels.

Wow, I think that top is gorgeous! I'm not thinking beacon at all - I think it's very classic, feminine and has a very 40's retro feel. I am not sure about daytime wear but I agree with the others that it would be a killer evening piece and could be dressed up or down.

Awesome ideas, guys! Thanks so much. I like the idea of this with black skinnies, and a bootie or cage heel. I have worn it with a black corset belt and pencil skirt, but I think I need a belt that doesn't narrow at the clasp because the fabric makes a little bag at the front with the belt I have. I like the idea of wearing charcoal with it, too. And the 3/4 sleeve idea is something to consider. I don't have fancy nights out very often, sadly.

I think it's pretty for a formal cocktail party, like a nice work event or something like that. I love the ideas of bringing it down a little with jeans or casual necklaces.

OK, here are the shots!

My favorites are with the denim jacket and the black swing jacket with bracelet sleeves that let the silver peep out. I think they both tone it down and make it feel more wearable. I think I would still want to belt it under the denim jacket, but maybe just with the self-belt it came with.

I might wear it in Napa with the denim jacket - my two girlfriend and I are headed down for a weekend and we'll probably go out for cocktails. But I also have a nice asymetrical silk top that might work better if it's warm...we'll see. At least I feel like this is an option now. Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate it!

I love it with the silver bow belt. I agree that it's not a daytime tunic but it's always good to have one great going out outfit in your closet so you don't stress when the time comes.
