As I've been sharing in my recent posts, I'm on a wardrobe management journey.
The step that I identified that would help in managing my wardrobe is identifying silhouettes that work for me. from there, I am slotting my pieces into each of these silhouettes. Here is my post on my FF priorities and my first silhouette: Fluid Top + Flared/Easy bottom.
My second silhouette is Volume over Volume - either sack dress or voluminous top over voluminous bottom.
This is not a conventionally flattering silhouette, for sure. But as a curvy hourglass, I have leaned into conventional FF guidelines for along time, and I find these voluminous silhouettes a little more modern and freeing. I love to see them represented on the forum too! Particularly inspired by @Angie, @LisaP, @Deb and @Irina.
I think the key here to making it look polished or JFE is structure - through a bag, shoes, or showing some strategic body lines like arms, collarbones and neck point, or ankles. I also find that the top can't be too long on me, or it looks sloppy.
Would love to hear what you think.
