So I bought a pair of black leather cowboy-ish boots on eBay. The description said "lining torn but easily repaired", which I took to mean that there was a little hole that I could just stitch up. Well, I should have asked more questions, because I got them today and the lining is very ripped, and I'm not sure how I can get at them to repair because they are pull-on style.

On top of that, they turned out to be taller than I thought, which is good in one sense because it makes them less "costume" and more "fashion", but it means that they don't quite fit over my calves properly. They are loose enough to be worn slouchy, but it would be better if they fit well.

I imagine that taking them to a cobbler will be pretty pricey, so I might try some DIY solutions first. Any ideas for what I could try to replace or repair the lining and stretch the tops a bit?
