Thought it would be fun to have a mask capsule thread since 2020 is (finally) coming to an end!
About half of these came from RunCarla- those get worn the most
The others are Athleta and Etsy shops.
As pretty as they are, I'm looking forward to not needing them!

I’ve spent my time making masks, I guess. I started with fabric on hand, and then started ordering small amounts from Fabric.com. Each different print was for one of the people I’ve made them for: my husband and me, our son and his girlfriend, and my 96 YO mother. Pi was for my mother, music was for our son’s GF (although everyone is musical), owls for my husband, etc. The dog fabrics I’ve made for my friends. We get together and call it Dogapalooza. I joke that there’s a two dog minimum.

My collection also came from Carla! They fit the best and go beautifully with my wardrobe. They are the only ones I have been wearing. The teal with olive floral (top left) gets worn the most. Carla also made some for my boys - DS1 who doesn't like things on his face, was refusing all other masks. Now, he sometimes wears the ones by Carla around the house!

JAillen, I LOVE your fabric choices! And it sounds like Carla is a master mask-maker.

Mine are being washed today, but I'll post a pic once they're dry. We share amongst the family, so there's a lot.

Lots of pretty masks here! And really impressive how a lot of them are selfmade. Mine are also selfmade, but not by me... I bought most of them on ebay.

Good idea! I love seeing everyone's collection. I got mine in March from Johnny Was and am still wearing the same ones. Since I go no where but for a daily walk they have lasted though getting a bit worn looking from laundering. I had five but lost one the first month, I think it was green and purple and had peacocks and was the best one.

I’m admiring these lovely masks. I’ve had no luck with fit and comfort so have only used surgical day masks on my very rare outings.

The Athleta ones are adjustable, and very light, Glory.

Thanks! I can’t order from Athleta here but will look for something similar. I’ve tried Adidas and several others but have struggled with comfort. At the moment I’m only doing outdoor walks and hospital appointments so it’s not too bad. I carry a mask for walks but rarely see anyone else - probably due to bitter cold.

Fun masks, people!

I have a colourful and pattern-rich style, so I kept my masks very simple and low contrast to my face - almost like a medical mask (sometimes I wear a medical mask).

I was hard to fit so I've painstakingly altered these six washable masks from Karen Kane in depth, length and width BY HAND. Now they work well and with my specs. I left it at that. Also, very important that I can insert a filter for extra protection, and I can do just that with these masks.

No, Irina! In Seattle, those neoprene black masks are the most popular - and medical masks.

We have a bunch, shared between three of us. First pic shows all of them. Second pic show my personal go-tos, if I get to them first. Of those, the printed ones are from Johnny Was (top) and Sanctuary, via Anthropologie (bottom two). The plain black ones are from Wayre, and win the prize for “least likely to fog my glasses”.

We also keep some surgical and KN-95 masks around, and I use some of the lighter silk Johnny Was masks almost exclusively as a cover for those.
