Just coming back in to say that you probably all know I have quite a limited wardrobe - I aim for 12-24 items a year and it's often closer to 12.
Typically I'd wear such a sweater a lot - 2-3 days a week. I anticipate 2 years of wearing for "good" ie outside the house, with possible longer for at home, or just layers under puffers for watching sport etc. Some have lasted longer than that - I still have some sweaters from about 14 years ago - but they don't tend to have the longevity of wovens, I find.
So when I said trendy, I guess I really meant patterned and/current - perhaps statement? Something so even if I'm just wearing sweaters and jeans - standard wear for me in winter, there'll be some interest in it.
