I'm home sick today but starting to feel better will be back at work tomorrow. The question I have is "What do you have lurking in the depths of your make up bag?"

Here's mine. I work on the principle that less is more especially as I get older. I wear garner BB cream over moisturiser & sunblock. Cover any blemishes with Benefit Boing & dark eye circles with Benefit Ooh La La & Lemon Aid for the lids. I add s bit of cheek colour with Benefit Benetint. Finish things off with L'Oreal Mascara, Revlon lippy & Sephora gloss.

I love all these products. What do you use?

O_o; you don't want to see my makeup bag. It's kind of wedged between my white coat and my "on call" shoes in my locker at work.

I can tell you what I have in it though!

Mine is too embrassing to show! Its a mad jumble. My mum is a compulsive makeup shopper and buys fancy brands so she keeps me in dior and lancome mascaras and YSL lipsticks. Thank good ness for her because I am on a tight budget and only buy very inexpensive things for myself.

Oh these are always fun to see! I tend to go minimal on the makeup too. Pic one is all of it, and pic 2 is what I wear most days.

Oh rats didn't realise you couldn't add photos. I'm still new to Realtime.
Interesting to see the products others use. I'm curious about BB creams - as you can see I have a cheap Garnier version & I also have a slightly more expensive L'Oreal one which has better coverage.

i have three sets because i usually forget to put on my face.

at home, eucerin hyaluron face moisturizer, retin-a, cosmedix micronized titanium dioxide sunscreen, pink bb beblish cream, t leclerc powder in amande.

in my office, aveeno eczema moisturizer used on the face, cosmedix sunscreen, smashbox bb cream, maybelline mineral foundation, chubby stick in bronze used as eyeliner

in my travel bag, eucerin hyal-urea face cream, retin-a, anthelios sunscreen, wild to mild tinted primer, jane iredale foundation powder, liquid eyeliner from target, mascara, neroli oil, and a couple more things that i rarely use unless i'm getting "gussied up".

oh, and lipsticks and glosses in many shades randomly distributed amongst my purses and travel bags.

I have been using a Smashbox tinted primer lately and skipping foundation. I do a little concealer where needed. I buy my makeup where I get my facials and it's not branded but it's nice quality.

I keep it simple with a neutral shadow and eye pencil in the corners and some plum lipgloss and mascara. I use MAC coquette shadow and and an angle brush to fill in the brows where needed. Really makes a difference I find. Oh, a little blush too.

loreal pulm lipstick that I use as a cream blush, not as lipstick. Powders don't stick
and copies of the home items.

I am trying out the use of blush after powders so I will duplicate if I find it works for me!

I own an eye brown pencil/brush but it hasn't been used much. I am a eye brown novice and have no idea what I am trying to achieve. Guess I need a lesson.

KC - I now use BB cream virtually every day, as it evens out my skin tone and masks most of my roseacea without looking like I have a lot of makeup on, even when I'm just at home it makes feel more ready to face the day.

I bought BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream with SPF50 on ebay approx US$18, free international delivery. This is one of the Korean type creams. I have tried sampes of a few Oz BB creams such as Garnier etc, but find them too thin, really just a tinted moisturiser. Initially I was getting a few little pimples by the end of the day until I figured out moisturiser is not needed under BB cream. I have just today ordered 2 more tubes.

Ps I do sometimes add a bit of mineral foundation to my cheeks and nose as I do have very oily skin.

Carolbee - I'm new to using BB creams and you;re right the Garnier BB cream does have fairly light coverage but still helps with evening out the skin tone - might do a bit of intenet searching to see if I can spot the BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream .

I must add a small sampler of hand cream to my make up bag - I keep tube on my desk at work. I'm also wondering about the brow gel that Raisin uses. I definitely like well groomed eye brows.

I have a make up drawer! A big one! And a small make up bag that I take with me to the gym in the AM (that is, if I can get my butt out of bed to go to the gym) I'm a bit of a make up collector, my sister loves to come over and ransack my drawer for the "good stuff" as she calls it. While my collection is huge my daily routine basically boils down to this:

Moisturizer
MAC BB Cream or Bare Minerals brightening Face Primer
MAC Matchmaster foundation
Bare Minerals face powder (I'm not blessed with a great complexion)
Benefit Eyebrow Box or Pencil
MAC or Bare Minerals Eye Primer (my lids crease horribly)
Smashbox or MAC Eyeliner... Depends on color preference
MAC or Bare Minerals Eye Color (either Nude/earth tones or deep purples to bring out my green eyes)
MAC or Bare Minerals Mascara.
Bare Minerals Blush
Sugar tinted lip balm

This is my daily routine, but I have all the fabulous brushes that you can find as well as tons of colors in eye shadow and eye liner.

My gym make up bag, while smaller, is still full of anything I could possibly want (mostly smaller versions of what's in my makeup drawer at home). I like having a variety and get a bit of anxiety if I pigeon hole what I can wear.

Is anyone else as bad as this? I didn't think I was so un-normal until I started reading this post.

Nicole - I have a drawer too ! Well a bunch of small drawers really. Have loved makeup since I was young. But it's funny because I tend to wear the same thing for a week and then switch.

I have oily skin so the Garnier BB didn't work for me but I have a Vichy Mineral BB that I love.

I have the same clear acrylic makeup holder that my parents gave, oh, 30 years ago. Fits on one shelf in the medicine cabinet. Beyond that, I have a second shelf in the cabinet for creams, foundation, lotions, potions, etc. I have a clear make up pouch in my purse but I honestly never use it. I'm talking like 3 times a year. Hmm, maybe I should get rid of it and make some room he he.
I have half a dozen lip glosses/stains total. I am bad at keeping up with that. I put it on before I leave the house and that's usually it for the day. Other than that, I use my under eye cream with SPF, Aveeno tinted moisturizer also with SPF, some Maybelline mineral blush and tinted mascara for green eyes (either Almay or Covergirl). Lately I've been trying a bit of eyebrow pencil (the old kind by Maybelline). Not sure if I want to upgrade to brow powder, etc. I'm trying to grow them in a bit after my 90's damage, but as we get over 40 they start to become more sparse.
So, I guess I am about a 4 product girl really. Oh, wait, I have a concealer that came as an 'extra' with some foundation half a decade ago. Trial size, but I still have some. Yeah, sparingly would describe how I use it I guess.

Make-up? What is make-up? ;>

In my kit bag, besides the med gear, is a hippie organic "lip tint" and a small tube of CVS "age renewal deep wrinkle cream" that I use as a hand cream after all that hand washing at the bakery.

By the way girls, the latest thing is apparently CC creams: one step up from BB, in that they contain more skincare ingredients and better colour correction properties. Just when I had gotten used to BBs!

Just chiming in - if you want to try a BB cream with slightly more coverage, I find that the Revlon Photoready is a great one - it covers my slight imperfections (nothing too crazy here, a few marks) with a light coat, and then when it dries, I just reapply and it builds pretty easily in those trouble areas. And it's in drug stores. $14.

I also have a kazillion lipsticks, but am not going to list them all.

As much as this looks like a whole lot, the routine is simple:

Wash face with Cerave Hydrating Cleanser, pat dry
Apply Olay Pro-X eye cream - under eyes and on eye lids
Apply Shiseido serum all over face
Apply CeraVe AM sunscreeen
Apply lip sugar treament and/or lip balm
Apply some kind of makeup primer - either the Smashbox or Lancome
Apply JI dream tint tinted moistuizer
Apply concealer where needed
Apply JI pure pressed base mineral makeup
Eyeshadow - usually just a neutral wash of colour with something in the crease
Liner on tops of eyes only
Mascara
Bush if wearing (either NARS orgasm or Lancome cedar rose)
Lipstick if wearing (lots of lipsticks in my drawer, but I don't always wear it every day) - always apply after balm of some kind.

The fussier foundation (Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H is really just for special occasions, as it's full coverage/long wearing - comes in handy sometimes and controls oil quite well).

When I leave the house - I'll throw the JI Pure Pressed Base Mineral foundation compact into my bag, along with a favourite lip balm and some lipstick. I also have a ridiculous thing where I always have some hand sanitzer in my bag (favourite is Burt's Bees Aloe & Witch Hazel Hand Sanitizer). Throughout the day, I will touch up with the Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base compact if needed, apply more balm and/or lipstick. So just three or four things in my bag if I'm gone for hours. The Jane Iredale compact, the lip balm, maybe a lipstick and the hand sanitizer.

We won't talk about how many lipsticks I have....
