These are my two new additions and both are insanely comfortable.

My feet love vans! I have wide-ish feet (but don't wear wide width footwear - too wide all over). I also have a very high instep and short toes.
The leather on the Mimosas is butter soft.

My favorite, and most worn sandal purchase from last summer - the SE Trina's. They are supremely comfortable, no blisters and zero problems right from day 1.

A dressier, closed toe spring/summer shoe is the Bella Vita Wow. They are also extremely comfortable.

My black Born gladiators from a couple of years ago are still going strong, and a I have a pair of black strappy sandals with a slight heel. At the end of last summer I picked up taupe gladiators from Lucky Brand. I needed another nude pair so I picked up the Franco Sarto ones in Finds, and have wanted white Birks, so grabbed the knockoffs below from Target. Vionic flip flops are a go to, and the LL Bean espadrilles were on sale and quite comfortable as slip ons once I got them.

No judgment here - I just read it as new comfy summer footwear

My best pair from last year was the Soft Bernia, thankfully they can still work this year.
For fun I had my Converse wedges and my Birkenstocks.
This year I am counting in my Paul Green oxfords, white mocs like yours and lace-up sort of caged in suede from last year. Paul Green is showing up big time in my shoe collection, they are well made and comfortable. Oh, and my gold PG sandals below.
The other pair I got for this year was the Eileen Fisher Allots.
Sorry that I am not good at linking but the other shoes are sold out and from last year. If you want I can take pictures of them.

I love alto madi wedges by clarks. these are super comfortable walking shoes. I repurchased them recently as walked my old ones into the ground last year. the design changed slightly but I love 1970s vibe. I think they may work for most feet because of the adjustable straps. http://www.clarkscanada.com/product/926105187/
also joseph siebel vanity sandals in bark but I am not sure if they are still available - maybe on ebay? leather inside out, very light, well made and great for walking for extended periods of time. http://www.walkingonacloud.ca/.....-Bark.aspx

Following this post with great interest! I'm afraid I have nothing to contribute in terms of recommendations. The only shoes I have purchased so far this year for summer are the Steve Madden open toe booties. They are 'okay' but not truly comfortable. Good for short jaunts but not when you've got a fair bit of walking to do. I am not used to the heel height, so I'm afraid I feel the bit of stress it puts on my back.

I love the look of the Steve Madden open toe bootie/sandals but they do not work for me...there's a weird ridge down the centre of the foot bed, like they only padded the middle inch, which feels lumpy underfoot. And I tried more than one pair to be sure it was not an anomaly. The most comfortable version of this look is the Franco Sarto ones at Capezio (Canada) in black suede (so super soft) and bone leather (really nice colour). 2.5 inch block heel so very manageable. Sorry no idea how to post a find but will post a picture and link.http://www.capezioshoes.ca/mon.....UbbUCFViko
I am a size 9 with a wide foot , high instep and arch, super narrow heel. Took an 8,5 in the suede, would need a 9 in the leather as they are a bit narrower.

My Eileen Fisher Allots took me through hours of standing at an outdoor art show this weekend. My feet run mid sized, sometimes on the low volume side, but my ball of foot to toes has spread and I have a wonky pinky toe. I think these shoes would work well on a higher volume foot than mine and there is a roomy toe box for any toe problems. They are flat but have a little padding. My arches are high but have done ok in these. My regular size 8 M fits fine. I also like that the soft fabric ankle strap fits my skinny ankles much better than most ankle straps, but it is stretchy and should accommodate bigger ankles too. There was no break-in time needed. I bought these in both black leather and a taupe and both are very comfortable. No difference in fit between them.

I bought these flats yesterday and they feel pretty comfy even for my wider toe box. I have not tried them out of the house yet so it may change...but I hope not! They are surprisingly flattering on the feet and have a padded footbed.
Past 2 years my most comfortable summer shoes were Me Too Adam Tucker flats but unfortunately they dies last year. Too bad they are not available anymore at Nordstrom!

This is a great thread. Thank you, Angie! I really find it interesting how different feet can be. Items that work for some of us will not work at all for others.

My truly comfy summer shoes are (alas) my worn out Bernias and my (close to dying) Converse wedges (though I can't wear those in the real heat).

I also have and love the Okalas and the VC E-something sandals (mine are not the Elianas, but very similar. But those are for dressier situations. I can walk pretty far in both shoes but probably wouldn't wear all day.

I have the Steve Madden "shallow" and while the heel is fantastic, the peep toe is not great for me; live and learn, I guess. They are wearable for partial days. Who knows, they may soften up a bit more with time.

Suz, I just got the Shallow and I stretched the peep toe area by yanking on it. It helped but I'm still not sure about the fit. They may go back.

Kerry, those Mimosas are my dream shoe. Almost identical to the Steve Madden Shallow except for the tan heel. The tan makes them just a little more casual, which I'd prefer. I so wish they shipped to the US! Is the lining entirely leather? The Shallow is a mix of fabric and leather (but no synthetic leather, which I dislike).

I bought two pairs of sandals, Naots and Kork-Ease. I've worn them a little bit, but not all day yet. Great footbeds on both of them, and the straps seem to hit at the right places on my feet.

I love my Mephisto sneakers. Super comfy and I think they look a little cheeky (I mean that as a good thing).

Kork-Ease cutout booties. They are a high heel, but also a chunky heel, so they are all-day comfortable for me.

I also really like my Paul Green cutout peep-toe booties, bought last summer.

This year so far I've gone very slip-on crazy! I started with the perforated white Vans (took a little breaking in, some band-aids and foot glide, but now good). Then I added the Ash Jordys (now on sale!). I really wanted the Ash Kurts to work, I tried them in two sizes, but they are too narrow for my wide feet. What I've replaced them with is the Steve Madden Buhbba. Almost 1/3 of the price of the Kurts, not quite as cool looking (the Kurts are so modern!), but they fit my wider feet. Haven't worn them out, not sure how well they will wear. My plan is to only wear them with specific outfits, I don't see them as every day shoes like the Vans or Ash sneakers.

As far as sandals go, I purchased several last Summer. Some are all still available on Amazon. They all work well on my high-volume feet. The SE Ardellas look great with skirts. The Matiko is a good neutral sandal. And the Donald J Pliner Corso is my favorite slide. It's not great for long walks as it's a clunky slide, but I love it for short errands. It looks great with so many things that I ended up buying a pair in black as well as gray. It is well made and right now, priced so low -- I would recommend this to any of my high-volume foot sisters with a lazy streak. (A slide is the ultimate lazy shoe don't you think?)

Finally, I added the Find for the Brooks Chariot sneaker. Again, great for high volume feet. I didn't keep the ones in black but plan to purchase this shoe in a different color when I find something that strikes my fancy.

ETA -- the Matiko Ursina isn't available this year, but they brought back the Bryn from 2 years ago. I added.

I'm watching this with interest as I have a ton of shoes, but the ones I find most comfortable are in need of replacement this season. They are so old they don't show up anywhere for sale, but a few are still in my finds.

( Not pictured) My all time favorite comfy sandals - Born Macadamia gladiators. A few others:
1. Kelsi Dagger Genelle - I have in 2 colors: black/nude and orange/brown and have worn them to death.
2. Eileen Fisher Fete sandals - snapped up on deep discount last year and still comfy
3. Like GP I have the Clarks Woodward Willow. They are starting to lose their sole cushiness from wear.
4. I did acquire white Birkenstock Arizonas, but I'm not sure yet how I like them and I can't wear for work.
I have multiple metallic sneakers, but don't consider them summer footwear as I wear them year round.

I have high volume almost wide feet. I'd like to find some slip on sandals with a low wedge that I can wear to work.

I almost forgot my favorites of all time - my Lands End wedge espadrilles. Similar to the Cara's below in navy with ties. They are uber comfy.

Greyscale, thank you! Mine are not actually tight at the peep (any more) -- not after a few wears. The problem is that my foot continually slides toward the front as I walk, despite the support offered by the high vamp. I was surprised by that and think it must have to do with the last shape. I don't do the same thing in my VC cage sandals at all.

I just ordered these sandals from Amazon last night, so don't know yet if they are comfortable or how the fit is until I get them. I wanted a grey sandal with open toes and suitable for work and these seem perfect.
I will report back if they are comfy or not.

I bought these Keen slip ons recently and they are all day wear comfy and I highly recommend them.

For reference I have a medium width foot, with a high arch and long toes.

One more thing...I wanted to buy these sandals, but they sold out of the citron in my size too quickly.
For reference, does anyone own these shoes? If so, would you post if you like them, fit issues, comfort etc?

Clarks flat sandals with the padded footbed are always really comfy for me and hold up to lots of walking. This year, I got the Viveca Rome gladiator sandals, which I wore for the first time yesterday. I'm also attaching an older pair of Clarks sandals which wore out at the end of last year, but which were my go-to shoes for the last two years when I was going to be walking a lot in the summer.

I just got the Eileen Fisher Corona for work. Haven't worn them yet, but they seem comfy and I'm really hoping they'll hold up well. I wear a lot of closed-toe flats and wedges to work in the summer, but I like to have a few pairs of actual sandals too and it's hard to find ones that aren't too dressy or casual and/or too bare.

I got the Topshop fake Birks last year and they're great for when I just want to put on something really easy, although I wouldn't wear them for long distances.

Also got the Nine West Banter slip-on sneakers this year and really like them, after a few attempts at fashion sneakers last year that just felt too sneaker-y to really wear.

I actually had the Woodward Willows Goldenpig and Jeanne have a while back and wore them a lot. I think they wore out after one summer.

I have high volume feet and my go to summer shoes are the paul green cage sandals from last summer.
I just bought the paul green black trina sandal and great so far.
My Birks (second pair) are amazing- highly recommend.
I also have a pair of paul green oxfords bought off ebay- here is the link, super comfortable:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Paul-G....._trksid=p2...

I am thinking of buying the fly london Yala- I don't have anything with an ankle strap yet.

I've purchased these gladiators from DSW (Franco Sarto). They're really flattering on my wider foot --- the shape and width of the strap is more flattering than in the pic.

I added the perforated slip on to my collection this year, too. They're not leather, but that means they're good for rainy days! The perforation allows my feet to breathe. Good for wider, high volume feet. Others may want to size down!

Also, for Suz: I make my peep toes more comfortable with spot dots:
http://www.target.com/p/fab-fe.....;term=dots

I buy them in clear, not black, and cut them to fit my straps, if necessary. I place them right where the leather meets my toe --- and they are awesome!

P.S. Note the little wedge on the Sarto sandal? This makes it far more comfy than a true flat!

OH, YAY. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. This is brilliant information.

Beth Ann, thank you for those bits of info! For me, it's not the pressure of the peep toe, but the sliding. I am not sure why it's happening. I really like those Franco Sartos, though.

Beth Ann, where do you place the Spot Dots?

Suz, I have the same problem with peep-toes. They cut into the top of my toes after an hour at best. That's why I got rid of my only pair 4 years ago. Although I never tried Body Glide. That might help. Too bad. It's a great Summer bootie look.

This is such a great thread! Learning a ton.
Here are mine.
Spring started TODAY with bare legs and closed toes. Seriously - this is the first (work) day we've had with temps in the double digits. So it's time for
1. White Monro Kimi Loafers
2. Keds Slipper sneaks
3. VC Silver oxfords
4. Josef Seible patent sneaks (had these for a couple of years, duplicated them last year. LOVE!)
Dressy sandals...
5. Found me some peep toe booties that fit! Steve Madden "Nobel" (don't know yet if these are comfortable, but they seem it... at least for work, the heel may be too high for a lot of walking)
6. Monro Abby's: Probably didn't need these, but was blown away by the comfort. The heel height will make them all day shoes when I need to do lots of walking - a definite wardrobe hole for me.
7. And this year I had to pounce on these Okala's - perfect for my wardrobe. I already have and love plain black ones.
8. SE Trina's - total workhorses from last year.
And of course on the casual front:
9. Birk Arizonas
10. I also have three pairs of Mephisto Hale sandals - patent black, patent white and patent blue.
And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the most comfortable sandals, EVER. Ecco Yucatan's. OK, so they have zero fashion appeal, but if you are walking all day, on a casual vacation, they can't be beat.

OK, so I like shoes. And just in case you think I'm incapable of colour, I'm not. But my colourful ones aren't available any more!

ETA: I have very "average" feet. Normal width, normal volume. I think.

My left foot has no special requirements...average volume, average arch, average toe box/heel. My right foot has a big toe joint that no longer bends, and there's still some swelling in the toe box area from surgery. The right foot is also still fairly sensitive to whatever you call the strap that goes between the big toe and the second toe. Some work fine. Some hurt like crazy.

Starting with my most recent purchases...
I went to TJMaxx Saturday looking for hiking shorts for my son and came home with the first 3 sandals in the pictures. I couldn't find these exact sandals anywhere (probably from last year), but the first 3 finds are similar-looking versions.

1. pic/find: Eileen Fisher black and pewter flat sandals. These don't look like much sitting on the shelf, but my are they comfy. I think they're pretty cute on too. The find is the same sandal, different color.
2. pic/find: Born sandals (wearing today). So comfy for super casual. Slightly lighter than what they seem in the picture. The find is similar.
3. pic/find: Impo stretch sandals. I almost didn't try these on because the straps aren't leather. So glad I did! Seriously comfy and the perfect heel height. Again, the find is a similar stretch sandal from Impo. I wore mine Saturday night to a concert with lots of walking, lots of standing. They were perfect. I'd happily buy another pair of Impo stretch sandals.
4. pic only (no find): These are ancient orange sandals by Soft Style. I also have them in white. Insanely comfy. All day shoes.
5. pic/find: RL slip on sneaks. I have these in dark gray, navy and white. Very comfy, very cute.
6. 2 finds: Sofft sandals. I have these in both the white and the black. I've worked all day in them with no issues.
7. find only: The best ever day-to-day sandal. I have this i black and pewter. They're about 3 years old. My pewter ones are desperate to be retired, but I can't give them up. I have an Ebay bid on a replacement pair now. We'll see.
8. find only: Aerosoles loafer. So comfy and such cute colors. I ordered 6 different colors, but I only kept these for Spring and a black/tan pair for Fall. Most of our Summer is just too hot for closed shoes.

That's it!

1: A low contrast, metallic sandal for smart casual wear; stable heel; comfortable. Low heel at 1.5".

2: Dressy heeled sandal, secure feel with ankle straps, comfortable as is. Low heel at 1.5".

3: Very comfortable ballet flat; true to size and no arch support needed.

I hate uncomfortable shoes, specially in summer. Some years ago I discovered my favourite brands for the summer: Camper and Ecco. They really make the most comfortable shoes!

These are the shoes I've been wearing that are still available in the market. I also have a colorful (pink and purple) patent flatform sandal that I got last year, as well as the blush snakeskin Zara slip on sneakers from last year.

I'm on the hunt still for a pair of espadrilles and a pair of flat cross-over slides (with support).
