I had to go to the local Mall last night to return a shirt I bought for hubby that didn't fit right and while there, noticed they had a new Clarks store. I popped in and ended up trying on three styles. All three were extremely comfortable, contain the Clarks Plus intelligent underfoot cushioning which works well for my fussy feet, and were under $200.
#1 - a wedge chunky style pump - available in both black patent and burgundy patent
#2 - classic Chelsea available in both black leather and cognac leather
#3 - classic brogue available in both burgundy and black
I think I'm going to go back and buy the Chelsea boots as a replacement for my Ara booties. Although nowhere near the refined pointy look of the Ara's, the comfort of these is a 10 out of 10 and these days, that's more important. And although the toe isn't pointy, it's not completely round either.
I am also seriously considering the burgundy patent pumps - wouldn't they look funky with a pencil skirt and tights?
Anyway - just wanted to give a shout out to Clarks and acknowledge that they seem to have stepped up their style game. They don't look as "old lady" as they used to.
