Is my shoulder pad still in trend?

Just found my favorite blazer which is also shoulder padded.
I don't get the chance to wear it, the pads dont fit under my big parka coat to survive the -ºC weather here.
My apologies for the bad quality of the photo..

So I came to think of it, are they still in trend?

I'm definitely seeing shoulder pads around! Picture 2, the sharp/high shoulder jacket I think we saw a couple of years ago but they are trickling into mainstream -- I just bought a blazer with that type of shoulder pad.

Such a cute jacket, and it looks like it fis you really well. It seems that whenever a trend comes back - it is slightly different in it's new incarnation. Agreeing with Rachylou, sadly, your shoulder pads are dated.

If the shoulder pads bug you, can't you just remove. I'm afraid that's what I would do because I don't need shoulder padding, I already look like I have football player shoulders.

Oh, I wasn't thinking Sonia's jacket had '80s shoulder pads. Hmm. Possible for another pic, Sonia, with arms at your sides?

If the shoulders are fairly narrow and the padding small, that's modern. And also the "Filipino dress" sleeve - the stand up shoulder...

It doesn't look super padded, so I think it's fine. But they're easy to take out if they bother you.

I think it's a cute blazer, and with other modern pieces, I think it is quite lovely! One of the new blazers I just got had shoulder pads in it too, so I think they're okay in moderation.

I had a nightmarish vision of those HUGE HONKING THINGS of my childhood. I remember my mom had this blazer with what I called "pillows" on the shoulder. They were good for leaning your head against to take a nap.

Yours look fine Sonia, not too bulky but enough to add structure.
If you are a Pear like me, bonus- balancing the hips and creating an hourglass shape.
