I personally prefer the chin-length look. When I wore my hair in a bob, I went SLIGHTLY longer than chin length in the front to elongate my face and had them cut the back shorter so it was angled. I love the lightness of shorter hair. But it's a deeply personal choice. Only do it if it's what you really want!

There are pros with both.

Chin length- does not hit shoulders so easier to be sharp.

Shoulder- can tie up when exercising or for a change.

It does depend on the width of the face too.

I think it depends on face shape. I have quite a broad strong jaw, and feel that chin length broadens me more than I'd like

I agree with Anne I think it depends on face shape I've had both cuts the chin length shortened and widened my face but my face is long and narrow so I liked that about the cut I had the shoulder length one and it was easier to mess around with if you wanted to try new ways to style it for different occasions. I like both but it's a personal choice and also depends on what amount of time and versatility you like to have with a hair style

I love the chin length one as it looks so sharp. Like Anne i have a wide jaw so wear mine slightly longer just under the jaw. So it depends on face shape like others have said.

I'm not so fond of chin length cuts, but I have wavy/curly hair that doesn't bob well, plus an unfortunate jawline, so I look horrible in bobs, especially chin lengths. It depends on the individual's features, hair texture, face shape and personal style.

I'd wait until you can post a picture. Face shape and hair texture play a huge part in deciding on the best length and cut for you.

I agree with Anne that it depends on face shape. I have a bob without the fringe and like to wear it shorter in the winter when I wear more high necked clothing and scarves and longer in summer when the heat can make me want to pull it back. Sometimes a change is nice.

Cut it to chin length. Then it will grow back and you'll get to experience both!

Would definitely need to see a pic of your face and upper body. So many variables. That said, if you're feeling the urge to chop, I say chop!

On myself, I prefer my hair chin length or shorter, never longer. Easier to maintain and feels more intentional.

I think it depends ... chin-length is sharper, but longer is more versatile ... I agree with LaPed. - if you feel like chopping, chop! It's a fun change and hair grows back

I have a really square jaw and I find a longer length suits me (I have an angled bob at the moment), but I absolutely love the look of a sharp chin-length bob on others.

Also, having had my hair various lengths, I can say how it will fall depends on your hair texture - at chin length my hair tended to curl under when I wanted it to be manga-straight.

Like the other fabbers have said it depends on the shape of your face and the texture of your hair. I have seen lots of shoulder length "lobs" on celebrities right now. I prefer shoulder length hair or longer for myself because my hair behaves better and it suits my face and style. I also have a long neck. I had a chin length bob once and grew it out because it looked very weird.
