Should I try this print blouse?

I find that I battle with myself on print. I love the idea of a floral or bird shirt with glorious colours. I do worry that they can overwhelm me though. Does this warrant a purchase? Too much print? Too much colour? Guidance welcome.

To me, prints seem overwhelming when they are too large of a scale for someone's frame, or when the colors are "too much" for someone's coloring. Is there something about your frame or your coloring that is making you wonder, or is it more that you're not as comfortable in colors or patterns?

I end up returning so much of what I purchase because I think most things just look dreadful when on. To be honest this is a body image issue. I am 5' 4" and am overweight. I sure don't want to enhance it but at the same time want to dress the body I have.

I have trouble with prints too...I feel overwhelmed but also I get a pajama vibe from so many of them! I've gradually added a few, but I know where you are coming from.

The colors in that one are gorgeous and I love the hummingbirds. I would be very tempted. As someone told me a few days ago, ordering and finding out, even if you return, is way better than wondering for months!

I love florals and they are in, but your pick seems a bit dated to me. The cut is somewhat matronly. I think something brighter might work better. See photos.

I like the print, but am not sure about the cut / style. Maybe it looks better when not buttoned up and with scrunched-up sleeves.

I like the print a lot, but I agree with the others that the cut seems a bit dated/hard to wear. I'd personally want something with slightly more structure at the shoulder or neck line. (for example, a stronger shoulder seam, or a v-neck or sharper lapels.)

ETA: although if you have a naturally strong shoulder line you might be able to pull it off.

I think it depends on your coloring, how it plays with your frame/features and how you wear it. With rolled sleeves and untucked with a contemporary jean look it could be quite nice. It's true that there might be a more contemporary print or cut that also has birds and/or flowers -- I love them too.

I like the shape for you quite a lot. I am not, crazy, tho about the colours and pattern. They feel weak to me, for you. Something with a dark background, now that I feel could be stunning on you.

Print-wise, I find this one too cute, too nice. It makes me think of that episode of Portlandia, where they just "put a bird on it." Napkins! Canvas bags! Tea cups! You could style it more Current Lily Pulitzer, less hipster, but I fear things would not be improved.

Ohmigosh. I'm so harsh. Was that harsh?
