Should I try these boots?

OK, so they do not have gold zippers and they are still on the pricy side for me, BUT the reviews specifically mention them being good for skinny ankles/wider calves. And AGL is a great brand.

I think these are stunning, but would the absence of hardware make these less appealing or less versatile for you? My own personal opinion is that fit (along with comfort) trumps all other things. I think this pair is worth a shot as Nordstrom has such a great return policy.

I'm trying to remember that along with stylishness, my footwear criteria need to include "can't wait to put them on", not "can't wait to take them off".
So if good boots have been elusive, why not try. That will also tell you someting about the brand and you. I think these look lovely even though not a lot of trimmings.

Love those boots -- especially the cutaway at the back of the knee. I think the lack of hardware actually makes them more versatile and classic, but they still have an edgy moto vibe. Go for it!

Yeah, if I can find riding boots that fit my ankle that will be a minor miracle. These do seem promising; in addition to narrow ankles, some reviews mention high insteps not fitting, which is great news for my super shallow ones! I hope the stretch gore on these is stretchy enough to get my 15" calf into.

No, lack of hardware will not make them less versatile. I don't really know why I'm obsessed with gold zippers. Now, silver zippers I do not want, but black ones (like these) are just fine.

By the way, "shopping for pumps" is dangerous. I keep finding fantastic shoes that are not pumps.
