Should I press the "Bid" button? Edit: Sizing query

Hi Ladies,

I think I need some moral support.

I sell frequently on Ebay but have only recently purchased on Ebay (my new wedge heel black booties) and I don't know why but I am quite hesitant.

I have an obsession with Canadian label Complex Geometries and I have set myself a goal to save and purchase a few of their dresses for next summer.
Anyway they are not cheap and then there is shipping... SO... I found one of the dresses on Ebay (AUST) and it ends in 1 hour.

It almost new, my size, postage is $8.00 and she is asking only $70.00. It retails around $150.00 - $175. And there are no bids at this stage. I find it hard to believe that it wont go crazy at the last minute but I am not sure this label is all that well known here.

The beauty of these peices is that they can drape this way and that and can be worn numerous ways.

It seems like a no brainer but Im having trouble pressing that 'Bid Now" button.

What would you do?

WOULD SOMEONE BE ABLE TO CONFIRM FOR ME THAT A US SIZE 10 IS AN AUST SIZE 14. AND IS CANADIAN AND US SIZING THE SAME?

DHs strategy is good. I either wait till the last minute or decide my maximum put in the bid & forget about it:)

Ends in 14 mins! Seller hasn't got back re sizing. Is I'm taking a punt and assuming she has quoted the size on the tag which I would expect to be the US size:). I guess I can resell if I'm wrong.

It's mine! So that's my very first "auction" purchase on Ebay. The booties were from a store so no bidding involved.

No one else bid! Which really suprised me. Ok so deep breath and here's hoping the sizing is correct.

Yay! I love this label too, so I'm excited to see this on you. I can say US and Canadian sizing is the same, but I don't know how is label runs. I get the idea that the clothes are quite generous, but I haven't seen them. Can't wait to see it!

Thanks for the feedback. After I completed the sale and noted the payment went to a company not an individual I started to question if I had just bought the genuine article but the seller has 100% positive feedback. Anyway, it should arrive some time next week, so we shall find out. I think I am just being neurotic though, as there is nothing really to suggest that it's not the real deal.

Agree that UK 14 is supposed to be a North American 10, agree that it is a great dress for you, and I don't think the label is well known enough to have inspired fakes, so I don't think you should be overly concerned. Can't wait to see it on!

Yoox often (but not always) has complexgeometries on sale. Just FYI!

Deborah, I always use a sniping program for eBay. That way you can work out your max bid without getting caught up in emotion and competition. The one I use is "justsnipe" but I'm sure there are others.

FWIW I had not heard of this brand before, so it is probably lucky for you and has worked in your favour! Meant to be too as it is your size.

Vicki, with a sniping program you decide in advance how much you're willing to bid on an item. You set up the "snipe" and the program swoops in during the auction's last few seconds and places the bid for you. That way you don't get into an emotional bidding war and you don't have to hang out watching the auction. There are a lot of these programs available for free. Hope that helps!

Congrats on your win! Sorry I only just saw American sizing is all over the place like Australian sizing. I think a 10 US is about a 14 Australian.
