Should I keep this cardi?

Trying to decide if this cardi should be a victim of The Great Purge.

Pic 1: Although I love waterfall cardigans, this one just seems kind of ... mumsy on me. Also, the cranberry color I think is a bit too ... red/florid for my complexion? It doesn't get a lot of wear, maybe once a season, so obviously I'm not loving it. I'm wearing it today b/c I'm meeting with students and wanted to look a bit older or more sedate than usual.

Pic 2: For comparison, here is a purple cardi that I love - it's a blue-er purple, and I think much more flattering to my skin tone.

What say you Fabbers - Release Cardi #1 to go find love at Goodwill?

I like it on you... both the color and the drape. It could have an arty vibe if styled a bit differently... perhaps just taking off the pearls and leaving it (as is) over the sleek darker column. I agree that the purple sweater is gorgeous on you. But it is an entirely different sweater style. Perhaps it would be nice to have two different options in terms of color and silhouette. However, if you are not so much in love with #1 anymore, maybe it is best to pass it along to someone else.

I vote let go if you don't love it and don't wear it. The purple does look very good on you.

My feeling is if something makes you feel "meh" let it go. Imagine if you had that style in a color you loved? Would you wear the heck out of it?

I like the movement of the cranberry one, and I don't think the color is bad on you at all. But the blue-purple one is a better color for you. If you don't like it, I say ditch it.

I was going to vote yes -- until I clicked over to the purple one. I agree that the latter color is more flattering, although I don't mind the shape of the first one.

If you're not wearing it, get rid of it to make room for something that really makes you happy.

Thanks all, the consensus seems to be let it go. It was interesting reading your responses because it made me realize that I wanted you all to tell me to let it go. It's almost like I needed permission to get rid of something that fit and was reasonably flattering (though not fabulous). Well I'm giving myself permission - to the Goodwill bin!
