I'm finally trying on items I bought from the NAS (life has been a little topsy-turvy) and I need some opinions.

I love this Zella jacket, and am on the fence about the Eileen Fisher shift dress.

I'm not sure about the fit of either of them.

Should I keep one, or both, or send both back?

Should I keep and get any alterations?

Help please!

Unfortunately, the Zella jacket looks too small to me (pulling across hips and back ) . The EF dress is gorgeous and might just need a slip to ease it over your hips ? It is not hanging the way it should over your bum

I'd keep that, and you can wear it now! Add black boots and a topper in Autumn. To my eye, no need to alter. Eilleen Fisher seldom lets you down. Has it been a decade now? Rock on wth the brand!

The Zella jacket seems awfully long in the sleeves - because it's not a petite size, I think. It will lie better in the back when it's unzipped - which is the bunching that LJP is referring to.

You do need to zip up a jacket. You live in Seattle after all! I know that you run warm - so you might wear it unzipped more frequently. Especially with something warmer underneath. Sounds like you like the way it feels. If so, consider having the sleeves shortened at Nordies. That will improve the overall fit. I can send you to the right person who will help you to perfection, if you like.

Ha! yes, Angie, Eileen Fisher never steers me wrong, which is funny because I'm not a designer clothes kind of person. But if it works, it works.

No, not quite a decade yet for my love affair with EF. It's been just a little more than 8 years.

I would ordinarily wear the jacket unzipped because yes, I do run warm. Plus, I wouldn't wear that jacket for a cold-weather stomp through the woods.
I zipped it up for the photos because I wanted feedback on how that
looked.
Yes, Angie, if you have a suggestion for who should alter this for me, I'd be more than grateful!

Yes! Cannot go wrong with Eileen Fisher. Your hair especially compliments her design asthetic, thick and natural. You can put it in a bun or lose pony- tail to change up the look.

The dress is really good - avant garde. I do think the jacket is bunching oddly at the back, above your waist - it doesn’t look to me like you could really fit a sweater underneath, which may be something to consider.

Hi Robin, I love the dress! It looks perfect. The jacket looks good from the front and I’m not sure why it’s bunching in the back? What happens when you raise both arms? How about when you sit? Does the jacket feel snug anywhere? Do you have enough room to move? If you can move well enough in the jacket I would see if a tailor has any ideas of how to fix the bunching.

All 3 have an odd back fit to me. I'm thinking something more fitted at the top but looser at the bottom would be good to try.

Hah, love the dress, wow-it has an avantgarde feel, indeed- you just have to pay attention to pull down/smooth it over your body on the back a little more vigillant IYKWIM. Then about the jacket. If you will wear it mostly open the fit of the body will be OK and it means you do not really want to keep those knitted cuffs at all. I for myself I know I hate them- they always make me super warm. So, I would advice to tell to the alteration person Angie was advicing you to cut those cuffs and hem without them at your wrists. You had a great NAS it seems! Cheers!
