I was going to use my CC rewards to get myself a big cognac messenger bag to go over my dark colored coats this fall/winter... but I've been watching the bag selections of the stores I could get gift cards to, and I'm highly unimpressed with the offerings, especially for the price. I'm thinking of just getting boring old gas station gift cards with the rewards points instead of forcing myself to choose a bag I don't love...
So that brings us to the second part of the story, which is that I DO love the looks of this bag: measurements pretty much exactly what I want, all straps removable and re-configurable, and a solid $100 less than what I'd pay for a similar size using the gift card ($108, plus $19 shipping). The seller has rave reviews for fast shipping and bag quality.
The downside? Well, it's in Korea, and if I want to return it, I'd have to pay the return shipping charges.
Still, the other few items (makeup and awesome fleece tights) I've ordered from Korea have been really good quality.
Yay = get it: who knows when the perfect size, color, and functionality will come along again? And this way you save money in fuel while still getting your bag!
Nay = hold off: too risky, and too spendy.
