I know, I’ve sworn up and down that I’m not a fan of cropped flares, but these Mother jeans are super comfortable, fit great, and I love the dark grey wash and frayed hem. The rise is a bit high for me, but it fits well at the waist so it’s they are not slipping down and creating extra fabric in the crotch, which is often what happens to me in high rises.
I feel like I need to style them with high vamp refined booties for them to look right, and even then, I’m still not used to this silhouette on me. I would employ certain styling strategies (low contrast with tops and boots) to try to slim and elongate the leg line in crops. I put this outfit on today and I think I like it, but I’m nervous about the jeans. One moment I’ll look in the mirror and think they look cool, and the next I’ll be worried they aren’t flattering enough.
Talk me into or out of cutting the tags and wearing them out of the house today. I either need some reassurance or a reality check, LOL. They’re not cheap jeans, so I don’t want to make an expensive mistake, but I don’t want to shut myself out of a look that gives me a little more variety and current vibe in my denim collection. What say you?
ETA: tags are cut, wearing this today. Hilfiger jacket, Liverpool snake print top, Mother jeans, and Zara booties. Also wearing a Longchamp black triangle sling handbag that I got at a consignment store a couple of years ago. Added turquoise tortoiseshell resin hoop earrings and stacked resin rings I got in Mexico.
