Should I consign this Helmut Lang jacket?

I got this about 3 years ago. I haven't worn it all in the last year. It's a bit hard to wear because it's longer in front that in the back. Sorry these are some old bad pictures, I'm on call. I hope you get the idea.

Hmmm, you haven't worn it in a year, and it is hard to wear. Does it still sing to you? Will you go out of your way to make it work in the enxt year? It sounds like it doesn't make you yearn to wear it, and you have a lovely wardrobe that does. So I would consign.

I say 'nay-then-maybe-yay'. I've got some awesome pieces I have to make myself wear, because I sometimes get some silly idea to 'save' a piece for a more special occasion, or because I think, "I'll just have to get it dry-cleaned after", as if there weren't a dry-cleaner right across the street from me.

So I vote 'nay' to consigning it just yet - take it out for one more spin, and decide at the end of the day, what your happiness factor was, wearing it.

If your happiness factor is a 10, keep it and find ways to wear it. I think it's a gorgeous jacket!

If it isn't a 10, consign it.

Send it on down the line! You have many more great pieces and don't need the stress of this one. It's kind of neat, though - vaguely reminiscent of a fencing uniform.

Yes unless you've found a great new way to wear it. Sounds like you've got other options you are wearing and enjoying much more.

I think it still looks very relevant to hour style. Have you pulled it out and tried Styling since your style shift? I can picture ot with your bf jeans, light skinnies, etc. I think it deserves another look before consigning.

I am with Rae and Caro. It is a piece that looks very you and might just need to be played with and paired with something different. For example, how does it look over shorts?

I really like it, but I know for me, if something is hard to wear and I always fiddle with it, I just never wear it. Sounds like that may be the case for you, since you haven't worn it in a year. Maybe try it out a couple times, see if it sits right for you, and if not, consign it?
