Should I buy this denim vest?

I have been looking for a denim vest for the following reason. I am preggers, it is warm, but I still feel self-conscious going completely un-layered, and wearing floaty tops all the time trying to remain incognito is starting to get old. I thought I could throw a vest on over a slimmer dress or tank top and feel not too warm, but dressed. I tried this one on in the sales yesterday (picture 1), but was on the fence. What do you think? Cute? or too something? I do have a very similar denim jacket (second photo--note, I DO NOT look like this right now), but it's too warm to wear that until fall again. Would a blue one be better? A longer one? I really like this grey one, but I am not sure if it is a smart buy. It's a little out of my comfort zone.

I rather like the shape of the shorter one especially for maternity (but doubt it will help with incognito). It does look like it could be restricting in the arms - did you find it to be? Of course make sure it will accommodate any up top growth.

The denim bolero is a great piece. It is seems to address your fashion concerns and is very stylish. It will give your maternity wear a nice edge. The bolero is something that you can wear post pregnancy as well.

I tried It on in my normal size. The arms and back seemed fine. No chance of closing it right now, but that's okay.

If you want to wear it with tunics and dresses I really like #1: nothing beats a cropped denim jacket to layer in summer and this one is really cool.

Thanks, everyone. I just wanted to clarify that there really is no more remaining incognito at this point, so I just want an extra layer to feel more secure in more form-fitting stuff, but layering in summer is obviously tricky due to the heat, hence the strategy.

Both are cute, and will give versatility to your wardrobe, both will go with almost any color. I guess it all comes down to how much coverage you want. Are you perhaps trying to downplay the pregnant look at work? If not, go bold and enjoy the differences of being pregnant. Celebrate the tummy!

#1 looks great and streamlines volume tops, so I would say BBQ It could also be worn after birth (good piece for covering up stains from nursing etc) + can be worn with a scarf for more covering up if you'd like that

After reading these comments I am really leaning toward getting the gray vest. Especially after starting this week in semi-shapeless clothing.

I vote yay too:-) You'll be able to wear it with more Autumn-y tops in the next coming months as well, and of course also after you've had the baby. I think it works really well with your style, Scarlet.
