I need a professional blazer for upcoming interviews and I figured I'd pounce on the half annual sale while I could. I found this one I really liked:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/ha.....038;BaseUr
What I like about it:
-Metallic, so it's a fun spin of a dark neutral (yay, it's fun!)
-Dark gray; I can deal with that color, although the rest of my wardrobe is black for professional wear
-The seams on the back look like this will conform to my body so it won't be very boxy
-It's lined
What I'm not sure about:
-it's a 3/4 sleeve (what if it gets cold and I want to wear a full sleeve one?); but I like the casual look of a 3/4 sleeve, plus it hits me in a better spot on my arm
-Are metallics considered appropriate for professional wear? I work in healthcare so while we're business casual oftentimes, we're not out there in the outrageous aisle either
-Will it be too shiny/too gray so it won't match with the rest of what I wear (I typically wear black, white and navy for the majority of my wardrobe..it looks quite drab as of now)
-Will it fit?! Plus those pockets; will they hit me at a wrong angle?
Even though I don't like blazers, I can consider this for something I'd enjoy to wear for a more formal of my casual outings. Although the thing is, I'm buying things mainly to further a professional capsule and this may not be completely for that because it's a bit different. Does anyone have any thoughts on it? (It'd be much appreciated!)
Of course, most of these questions can be answered once I actually put it on, but I don't want to bother if it's not going to be well accepted in a professional background to begin with! I have no idea what is the etiquette when everyone I know tends to dress safely to avoid setting off bad impressions.
