Should I buy the real version?

I'm at the top of a mountain waiting for my son and husband to come back from a little side route! Meanwhile am debating whether I should invest in the real version of these knockoff Tom Fords. Then I could make them into prescription glasses. Or are they too OTT? Fashion is always on the mind!

Yes! But my opinion is suspect after two glasses of expensive red wine & a craptacular day at work. I miss hiking.

I think the glasses are fantastic. If the real version fits into your budget, I think you would enjoy them for multiple years because they're "you".

Wow, beautiful view! I think the sunglasses are great. However, I am very rough with my sunglasses and lose or break them often. I can't justify paying too much for mine because of that. If you are more careful with yours (while climbing a mountain!) than go for it!

I took some classic Ray Bans and had them made into prescription reader sunglasses (because I am a vintage person). I love them and they're so much more useful for me. I like the style of your glasses, but the optician may have some styles that you'll also like. I think their frames tend to be more sturdy than sunglasses from the department store (or wherever).

For anybody else, I would wonder about expensive Rx space age cats eye sunglasses. But they look so incredibly good on you, like you were the first one who ever wore them.

Yay! I was actually just looking at the Tom Fords on Neiman Marcus' website the other day, and was mightily tempted for myself, but I sadly cannot justify or afford to buy a second pair of expensive designer Rx sunglasses.

Diana, I too can afford just one pair and still haven't replaced the ones I lost at Disney (which they reimbursed me for since they lost them).

Mander, you can't believe how many people were texting up there. The reception was better than some places in town! Annoying, but I had to do something while sitting and waiting.

Rute, I love these for the shape, not because they are trendy. This style was hard to find a while back, and I wear my spec frames whether they're "in" or not. But you're right that I need to think about whether they do indeed suit me!

The real deal is pricey, so I'm going to wait a bit, but I'm glad the $10 version passes muster!

Those ARE beautiful. They are really in right now. How would you feel if they became less trendy ?

I cracked up with you at the top of the mountain and thinking about fashion. I just got back from an "activity" vacation and decided that I need more fashionable shoes for hiking, canoeing, biking, and camping. LOL !!!

Are they these, Una? I have ordered a pair of frames from here (well, the Canadian site) and had tinted lenses put in them, and they are very good for the price. I see these come in black too.

Oh, definitely, you need them! I recently got some prescription sunglasses that were a splurge for me, and I couldn't be happier with them. BBQ!

They are so you, Una, but I say no. Because even though designer glasses are pricey, they are often crap quality (can I say that?)(just did, my bad). I would not spend the big bucks on sunglasses unless I went into a fancy place devoted to prescription frames only.

That said, after that I'd take the frames to Walmart and have lenses put in.
