Should I be exclusive with these boyfriends? New photos added.

I'm not big on wearing jeans, so I'm hoping to find a great pair of jeans to be my one and only. Here I am trying yet another pair of Boyfriends. What do you think, should I keep or return?

(I don't want cropped jeans so I'm also experimenting with cuffing at two lengths.)

ETA: New photos added lower in the thread based on comments that I should be wearing these lower on my hips.

I'm not sure if these are the ones. It seems like they ride really high on your hips. But maybe I just like mine to sit a little lower.

I tend to agree with Marmee - if they're going to be loose and boyfriendy, they should sit lower on your hips. Try without the belt?

They need to be lower on your hips to be boyfriendy. Right now they just look big.

Agree! Looser fit is good, though. I get a little bum foozled myself because if mine ride too low, I just feel uncomfortable because there's kind of a natural couple of places for waists to sit. But part of the BF look to me is that they fall a bit more straight down from the hip and the waist and hip curve is less emphasized.

More photos, shown with the jeans worn as low on my hips as would be possible with any pair. I wouldn't wear the jeans with just this particular tee and no styling, but I wanted a tighter tee so you can see where these are falling in relation to my waist.

Definitely better! I think your should peg the shorter roll though. And maybe hem so the roll is not as thick, but I'll defer to other fabbers on length. These have potential.

They work really well worn lower on the hip as in the second batch of photos you provided (very flattering on you). I'd recommend hemming them so the roll isn't as bulky, though.

As I'm playing with these a bit more I'm wondering if I should try one size down for comparison. I ordered two sizes but this is the smaller one. I'm really not sure how I feel about these and am wondering if maybe boyfriends just aren't for me.

Also, I'm working on switching out my clothes for spring/summer and I found jean #2 below in storage. It's more inside my comfort zone, but the downside is they are too short for shoes with any heel whatsoever. Do you have a preference between the two?

Pair #2 would be "flip flop jeans" in my book. I have some like that also. Too short for anything higher than barefoot!

#1 above looks really really good on you. Are those the sized down BFs? The leg looks a lot better to me - more tapered.

The jeans in #1 from my most recent post are the same in the rest of the photos on this thread but I did peg the cuffs slightly. I didn't take any photos of the larger size because they are just so, so big.

I really like #1, actually.
However, for #2, if they too short to function as full-length, would you consider cutting them off and rolling to somewhere between below the knee and 4-5 inches above the ankle (per Angie's ankle pants rules)? I did that last year and wore them all the time. I went to just below the knee and they functioned as shorts for me since I don't wear short shorts.

If you do that, then I'd say you have rolled jeans covered (from your perspective of only wanting to buy one pair this spring), and you could then look for a straight leg or other style you are more comfortable with for your new pair.

But I do really like #1

Yes, however you pegged the cuff took all of the *baggage* out of the upper leg. It made a big difference!

I would try one size down as they are a little baggy on the hips to me.

Honestly, I think the high waist puts them a little close to mom jeans unless you pull them lower on the hips. Who knew it was so hard to fit a loose pair of jeans correctly?

Alaskagirl, the pants are plenty loose. These are sitting on my hips (well not in the OP, but the photos I added later in the thread). I have a short torso so I wonder if that is contributing to you thinking I am still wearing them high on the waist?

Hmm, I like them better worn lower, but looking at your last set of pics, jeans #2 seem more flattering, and I wonder if it's because the rise looks a tad lower, which elongates your torso. Maybe it's worth trying a pair of BF jeans with a lower rise?

Perhaps it is time for me to log out, take a break and have a drink. I'm really stressed out about this whole boyfriend jean thing! I definitely don't want Mom jeans but aside from trying one size smaller in this pair, I don't know what else to try. I've tried most of the non-cropped boyfriends I can find. Frustrated.

To be honest, I don't think these are your perfect BF jeans, but only because to me they look too bulky when they are rolled. To fix that, you could hem them shorter and then roll the cuff. I think to get a better looking cuff, you might have to go with a cropped jean and roll it once or twice.

I don't think a full length boyfriend is any easy thing to find or pull off. IMHO the style looks better cropped and for this pair, pegged. Maybe you should start a "Ask Angie" post with a round up of pics of the different jeans you have tried, plus your criteria (one new pair of jeans vs. a collection of styles) and some lifestyle info. She might have some great suggestions for you, not necessarily boyfriends.
