(no pun intended)

I've seen a few models of swingy, wool shorts that I'd love to wear au lieu of mini-skirts, in summer bare-legged, and in winter with tights. Something about minis has always made me wary, namely, subway stair climbing and the fear of my exposing my knickers.

That said, shorts seems to be an appropriate option, because I like the comfort of separate legs, and the fullness of a few of the styles. That said, full, swingy shorts are hard to find. I found a pair that I like, but even with the discount, the price is worthy of a cheap leather mini.

Do you wear shorts in place of skirts?
And how do you establish a cutoff price for the shorts?
