Shorts - to buy or not?

I'm going abroad in May and want some new summer items for that trip. I've been wanting a pair of black shorts, slightly long, comfy but still stylish. I tried on a pair today that might work. Any thoughts? (Obviously I'll be wearing different tops with them)

How do they feel when walking around? On me, that length always rides up.

Hm, good point Gennifyr. I might have to go back and try them on again and see, I didn't really walk around much in them now.

They look really good on you. You have the knees for them! As for wearing them abroad, I think it depends on where you are going. Great for resorts and casual settings. In European capital cities, I think shorts tend to read "tourist" in a big way.

I'm going to Rhodes, one of the Greek Islands, with some of my best friends (we all turn 30 this year!). But I intend to find shorts that I can wear at home throughout summer as well! Any thoughts on that, if they're ok for "home" as well? Not for work, but casual days at home, seeing friends etc?

I think they look really good, and they'll pair well with summer blouses, so they definitely have home summer potential! You're the best judge of wearing shorts in Sweden of course.

I was just thinking of some hot countries, like in the Middle East or parts of Asia, where capris might be a better choice due to local cultural norms. The Rhodes trip sounds like great fun!

Thanks E! I think shorts are a common summer style here, so they should be ok! And I agree, some countries you might have to adapt your clothes because of the culture, but Rhodes should be ok regarding that too
