Short pants, no heels

I feel like I can't escape the shorter hemlines this fall and need pants/jeans desperately, so I started pinning some pant + footwear combinations that I think work together. Anyone want to take a look, and maybe add to it? Or critique the pins I have? Do any of them look terrible? I can't wear heels at all, but want something other than the standard ballet flat and rolled jeans look. I need booties and other shoes for sure, and want to use that board for inspiration for both bottoms and footwear. I just want to make sure I'm headed in the right direction. I think you could duplicate those looks with flat boots, say in a Chelsea style, or combat boot style. I really love the oxford looks and the one that you've labeled "fun boots." Those are totally fun boots!

Would you wear sox with the oxfords?

With my ankle jeans, I wear flat riding boots over them. The skinny ankle jeans tuck into tall boots very easily!

Thanks! I tuck pants into boots all the time, but wanted other options so I'm not just buying "boot pants" since I need a few pairs. I don't have lace-up oxfords yet so I'm not sure if I would wear socks. I saw those sock options and found them interesting. I wouldn't have thought to cover the gap with socks! I think it looks cute in those pins, but if I tried it, I'd probably look like a clown, LOL.

This is my all time favorite look. If I wasn't a pear shaped I'd wear it tirelessly!

I tire easily of ballet flats. Last year I discovered the ballet loafer. It's like a ballet flat but with a high vamp! They come in all kinds of colors and textures and materials, this fall I plan to buy a leopard design and a black with studs

I just tried out a few things with my one pair of short jeans. First is down all the way, but only reaches my ankle. Second is rolled. Third is folded with wide folds (hard to see b/c there's no contrast). Do any of these work?

You are set with those oxfords. They are so stylish, I think you could totally pull off wearing socks with them. As a playful complement to the already bold graphic.
