"Long locks are EXTREMELY fashionable. Most fashion bloggers, fashion-y people, celebrities, magazine editors school going kids and students have long hair - of course the lengths vary. In all my almost 43 years I don't think I have ever seen long hair make as big of a fashion statement. I find it fascinating. I wonder if and when this will change?"

I wore very short hair from 1979 until 2003. Then it was between my ear and shoulder. I am liking it long now. Here I am in 1985 and 2004.

So, what is the shortest hair style you have ever had?

Shortest hair I ever had when was when I was about twelve or thirteen, and went off spending my allowance to get a "Lady Diana haircut" without my Mom knowing about it. She was furious, but I was thrilled:)

Right now, my hair is getting shorter than it has been for years - it's about "collar bone" length right now. Very, very tempted to lop it all off, but haven't done so just yet.

Mine was a hideously bad "Princess Diana" cut in the early '80s, which could have looked lovely had I not been blessed with curly hair. There was also the time I cut it into a short bob (read: frizzy triangle). It's long hair always for me now.

I had long hair until I cut it off aged 7. Then I grew it long again.

When I was 13, I had my hair cut short. Let's just say it's a good thing Harry Potter hadn't been invented yet because I was a dead ringer for Daniel Radcliffe in my round glasses and short hair. We took a trip to England that year, and I was mortified because everywhere people at restaurants etc would ask "what would your son like?"

I have had it from ultra short pixie to down past the small of my back! The last time I had it short was until 2003ish, then I had an Amelie bob for a couple years, and then grew it out to lengths between shoulder and bra strap.

Hah, Nicola! You made me laugh, because mine was a hideously bad "Olivia Newton-John Let's Get Physical" cut that looked far more "Florence Henderson on The Brady Bunch: The Latter Years" than any sort of cool, rock-out 80's do. Special thanks to my mom, who convinced me this haircut was a good idea. Mom, if you ever read these forums, the answer is no. I am never going to let this go.

Like Nicola, it's long hair always for me, as well. I love my mane <3 <3 <3

I had mine shaved when I was young- not to the skin, but still with clippers. Not a look I want to go back to anytime soon!

You look absolutely gorgeous in both pictures! When I had my hair cut a few months ago it was the shortest I had ever went. It has grown in a bit but is still pretty darn short.

I had the Dorothy Hamill Camel 'do in the 70's. Grew it out as soon as I could in middle school and never looked back. It's been from below my bra strap, down to my waist ever since.

I had a pixie in 1980 and I hated it. I've had my current bob for several years (7?) and have been wondering if I'd look any good if I grew my hair longer.

You do look lovely with the short hair.

Except for once when my hair was shoulder length for a short while I have always had short hair. From VERY short to a little bit longer. Just can't manage long hair. (A while ago I had a look at our Grade 12 group's photo in 1988 and almost no one had long hair.)

I've worn my hair short for most of my life -- from my first pixie at about age 4 until ...well...all these decades later. Once ever ten years or so I would grow it for a while, but I always go back to short and feel best in short.

The shortest it's ever been was in the late 70s -- a super super almost shaved punk-ish look. I then grew it into a somewhat longer spikier do. Makes today's cut seem positively tame.

I've almost always had short hair, or at least above shoulder length, except from grade 6 through grade 10 when it was bra strap length. I looked like Cousin It with a haystack of thick, mostly frizzy hair. I've pretty much surrendered to crazy-wild hair that does what it wants, and is just long enough for a stubby pony tail for sports or working out.

Deb you look as lovely with short hair as you do now with it a little longer.
The length I am wearing my hair currently is the shortest I have ever gone:) Except for when I was about 4 when I had (according to my mum) a Mia Farrow styled cut.

When I was about seven, I had a pixie, and off & on for about 20 years until last year, I had a short, spikey 'do. But in early college, my hair was down to my seat and way too thick, bushy, and heavy to put up, gather in a pony tail or do much of anything with it.
