Short dress, little legs

Hi everyone!

I am new to this forum so if this is in the wrong place, my apologies! I just bought this really cute black sweater dress not knowing it would be as short as it is (I bought it offline...). I would like to wear it to work but would it be okay with some black nylons & heels? I have heard that if you are short/have short legs then you can pull off the shorter dress/skirt look without it looking bad.

What does everyone else think? Any replied would be greatly appreciated!

You could always pair it with leggings or pants and wear it more like a tunic.

I think it depends on how short it is. How many inches above the knee is it? Where does it hit you?

I have short legs and tend to wear short dresses/skirts. If I can squat down without flashing the world my private bits from behind, I consider it ok.

Of course, other people might think my skirts are too short. But anything longer than a few inches above the knee and I feel dumpy.

Hi ladies & thank you all for the replies! The dress tends to ride up if I am walking around (I havent worn it out yet but have done many trial "runs" around the house in it). It isn't a bad length when sitting down. It came with a belt but since I have a tummy, I don't want to put anything there that will add that extra glance to that region.

I just took one picture of the dress (Excuse me for looking a bit winded. I just got home from work & the 30 degree weather isn't doing much for the hair) & the shoes I plan on wearing with them unless someone suggests otherwise. I do have some fab suede slouchy Jessica Simpson boots that would look great as well. Let me know what you all think!

You look adorable, but the dress definitely showcases your beautiful legs. For work it seems too short worn on it's own, but I'm old fashioned and others may think differently. It looks fine for other events like evenings out

I like to wear my skirts short, and I'd say that your dress is probably as short as I would go for work. (I have worn skirts that short when I worked in an office, but always with nylons, like the ones you're wearing on the picture.) I think with boots and tights it might seem a bit less revealing.

In part, it kind of depends on what you do for work, too.

Generally speaking, though, I would wear that dress for work and out. It looks great on you, and you've got the legs for it, too!

I think you look great in that dress- I agree though, that whether or not it is appropriate for work depends on the climate of your workplace.

Thanks ladies! After wearing it around more I think I'll be more comfortable wearing it during a night out. I did a few tests & it would be better suited for something after work.
