As some of you may know from my previous posts, I am a new mom returning to work after maternity leave. I am also right on the border of straight and plus sizes. I live in Mexico City and I find shopping here is more difficult than in the States and also more expensive not to mention the plus size selection I've found so far is dismal.

In my previous posts I mentioned a big need to revamp my wardrobe. I had planned on doing it bit by bit here in Mexico, but then DressLover posted about a new line of plus size clothes by the Limited (called Eloquii) and once I checked out their website I knew I had to have some of the pieces. Because they don't ship internationally (and even if they did the cost is outrageous), I decided I needed to take a quick trip to the States.

I found a flight round trip for under $300 to Chicago - SCORE!

I had the Eloquii order delivered online to a friend and she met me for a few whirlwind days of shopping.

The Eloquii stuff was hit or miss on fit. I did end up keeping 2 dresses, 2 pairs of pants, 2 skirts, a couple of shirts and several belts. Oh and nancylee, you were right, the ponte knit straight leg pants and matching jacket ARE going to be a cornerstone of my new wardrobe! They fit well, are a new silhouette for me and are very comfy yet look polished. Thanks for the encouragement and supportive words!

Since none of the actual suit separates from Eloquii fit I went shopping to fill in a few blanks. I hit the jackpot, finding two Calvin Klein suits on deep discount (one at Rack, other at Macys). I even scored an animal print CK dress! Fab! We literally shopped til we dropped, I only had a day and a half there, so it was a quick trip.

It was my first time shopping with purpose. Before, I was (what I call) a schizophrenic shopper. I would buy whatever was on sale and fit, without really trying to make links throughout my wardrobe. This time, with my friend enlisted as my "cop" I stayed focused and the results are nothing less than impressive.

If anyone else is interested I found the Eloquii stuff to be well made, flattering cuts (once you figure out if you are a classic or curvy fit) and good materials.

I promise I will start taking WIW pics soon.

I just wanted to say thanks to YLF I have revamped my wardrobe and now feel GOOD every day when I get dressed. What a turnaround from my prebaby days.

Now that I have the basics I can focus on finishing touches. I am eyeing a leather jacket and will probably post about that next!

THANKS AGAIN!
