I went to Target yesterday and really did great. I'll have to take pics of what I got and post soon.

In the meantime, these are the "questionable's"

1. Really cute tan stripe dress. I have it on over my jeans in the picture, but wouldn't normally wear it with jeans. I love it, but couldn't decide about the top part. I'm always worried my small chest doesn't fill out dresses/darts enough.

2. Same dress, closer view.

3. Same dress, close up of problem area.

4. Long jersey knit black dress. I think it looks horrible in the hip area. Any ideas?

5. A black jersey knit skirt I bought yesterday, with yesterday's shirt, and a new floral black and white scarf. I wore this to turn in a job application today.

Those are my SO's clothes all over the floor in pic 5, not mine. Mine at least make it in a clothes basket! I need to invest in a full length mirror.

I like the tan stripe dress, but I would like to see pic#1 with no jeans underneath. It is a bit low-cut, but I would wear it with a cami. It seems to be a flattering dress, so KEEP.
The black dress doesn't really do anything for you, and it does funny things with your figure. RETURN.
I like the black stripe skirt in #5, and I like the scarf, so KEEP.

Thanks Rosee! I like the tan stripe dress too and would wear a cami underneath it. I didn't get it though because I couldn't decide! Note dressing room pictures. I'll have to go back and get it.

I def didn't get the black dress, but that's my figure for ya...

Oh and the black skirt is just simple black. I got a grey one too. It's a HUGE deal for me to actually wear a skirt. I wore it the whole day today even! I've never worn a scarf before as a belt or anything, so I'm glad you like it!

Striped dress looks nice - actually it is similar in cut to my red vacation dress! Either cami or safety pin can same neckline issue - I have the same with my dress!
Black dress does not do anything for you - too clingy for your hips and thighs. I have thighs too and stay away from this style - not flattering at all IMO.
Nice skirt f - you should wear skirts more often, they suit you well.

I like the striped dress as well. That black one is not good, whoever designed and approved it for sale needs to be spoken to.

I'm glad you are trying skirts. I almost always wear a dress or skirt & it makes me feel much more feminine and pretty.

I really like the cut of the striped dress, but would love to see you in something more saturated, as I feel like the tan is kind of draining to your pretty coloring. I *am* kind of biased against very muted/beige colors - that's just my hang-up - so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

The black dress is too clingy, and it's *not* about you or your body - your figure looks beautiful, and the dress simply doesn't do justice to you! I think that would be a tricky dress for almost all women to wear, because there is absolutely no hiding any curves with that cut/knit.

I love the skirt in #5, and the choice to use a scarf as a belt is fabulous!

Sveta- I just saw the red stripe dress in your post. I love it and the floppy hat! I'm all about comfortable shoes as I get bad blisters with cute shoes. That is one of my style goals for the summer is more skirts/dresses.

afterism- I agree about the black dress. I just tried it on because it was on clearance and thought it just might work with some accessories... until I tried it on!

Kari- I like the tan with a design. If it was just plain tan, I would hate it! I was looking for something I could mix with other designs and clothes though. They have another in the same style in a blue/white stripe. I may try that one on when I go back.

I love the tan stripe dress on you so summery and the skirt outfit looks good also. I need to check out Target. You could add any type of color with the tan dress (coral, red, white, blues) in the way of jewelry, cardigan, cropped jacket or shoes.

Reneeb- Thanks! I thought the same about the dress and adding color. I'm going to clean out my closet soon as I still have things from middle/high school. Either I haven't changed sizes or was wearing things that were way too big back then. Anyway, I'm looking for simple things that I can mix and match for now.

Tan dress and skirt are both super cute. Can't see the black one! Definitely go back and get Mr.Stripe though. Fun! Way to push your boundaries!

I like the shape of the striped dress but think a different color would look better. I have the same bias as Kari, so take that for what it's worth.

I vote try on the blue/white version of the dress. If you still prefer the tan then wear it with a colorful floral summer scarf. That will not only add color and be fun pattern mixing but will cover up the chest area so you don't have to worry about a cami!

The skirt seems nice. I love the scarf belt with it. It is very casual. I'd love to see you in a woven skirt!

I have to go against the grain here. I say pass on the dress. The busy-ness and seeming bulkiness of the twist below the bust draws my focus to your ribcage. this throws off the proportion to me. The black skirt, exactly as you have it styled, is fab to my eye. If they're hiring based on how you're dressed, you're a shoe-in for the job.

I think the dress looks lovely on you, but would go up a level with more colour. You look gorgeous in the skirt and top.
