We are headed for a lovely weekend downtown to celebrate my birthday, eeeee! Festivities will include a lovely dinner with friends tonight, watching the St. Patrick's Dyeing of the Chicago River to a hilarious bright green on Saturday morning, and running a 5K on Sunday morning before heading home. And of course, lots and lots of shopping!
My plans are to hit the flagship Macys on State Street and the Nordstrom on Michigan Ave, and any place else that catches my eye. I have a couple of things I want to keep an eye out for, like:
-white trench. I definitely need a classic trench this spring, but black is too boring, and camel washes me out. A crisp white would really do the trick, don't you think?
-heeled ankle boots. I gave up on the Birthday Fryes because none of the styles this season appealed, but I still would love one pair of ankle boots if I find the right ones. I definitely want it for a casual dress look, so I think heeled is my best option.
-Dresses. Of course!
-White tunic, or a nice denim one. I think either would go great with all my long cardigans and leggings/ponte skinnies. That's a look I could totally get behind.
-More short-sleeved long cardigans. I am crazy about this look this spring.
I did order the YLF Nine West dress, but was not crazy about the shape or fit on me, so it's on its way back. I had much more success with the Franco Sarto Tazers and the Alfani black sandals. LOVE them both and cannot wait for it to get warmer so I can start wearing them! Thank you so much for those recommendations, Angie!
OOOOH. And thanks to Vani's eagle eBay eye, I just won that fabulous MK fishnet-and-zippers skirt in a size 12 for $36. If it's too snug, that is all the motivation I need to keep on losing weight. LOL!
Anyone have any other suggestions for items to keep an eye out for? It's my birthday and I have gift cards to burn!
