Well, I purchased more in March than my goal limit of four items per month, but it is a month when I typically buy in preparation for the warmer weather ahead. I expect April and May will not be buying months because I will be traveling some of that time.
I did manage to replace some old jeans -- several pairs left my closet, mostly because they were getting worn out, and I was wanting straight leg styles rather than skinnies. So, I ended up with two pairs of DL1961 Coco jeans and a pair of AG Harpers. One pair of Cocos still has tags on, but the other two pairs have already gone into rotation. (See Finds)
Also in the Finds -- I bit the bullet and bought this pair of Frye combat boots I have been eyeing for a while. My old Ugg moto boots are starting to look scruffy and these are a good update. It's the end of the wearing season, but they are such a classic/rocker look that I know I'll wear them happily this fall and for years after.
I also bought several items at Anthro when I found some good things for upcoming warmer weather:
1. Lightweight cream sweater - already worn -- good for layering in cooler weather and alone in more moderate temps
2. Black vest/top - still has tags on but I expect this to get wear as the weather warms up. Works nicely as a top or vest, washable, comfortable, flattering and versatile. Should be good even in warm weather since it is a knit.
3. "Wanderer" shorts -- still has tags on since it's not the season yet, but comfortable, neutral, easy, casual, and the right amount of roomy. Will be summer workhorses since some of my old shorts got culled.
4. Cupro tank in navy blue - again, tags still on but I expect this to be a workhorse -- good color, breezy and comfortable casual basic, with just a little twist in the simple cut.
I also bought the dress in the Finds -- the Tommy Bahama blue print midi/maxi. It's a good summer/beach dress -- very comfortable and casual, with a great hemline and neckline for me. The print is not too over-the-top either, so it works for me. Great with flat sandals or sneakers. I'm having the shoulders taken up a bit as I so often have to do because the top is just a bit long on my body.
So, yeah, I definitely way exceeded my limit this month, but the jeans were a really easy choice once I found the right washes, and shorts are hard for me, so those were a no-brainer too. Nothing terribly wild-card here, and it's clear that I'm not finding much in the way of COLOR this season (LOL), but these should be useful pieces.
