I have been looking around for a casual blue dress for spring and on my search I tend to stumble upon things that don't fit the exact criteria I was looking for, but that I love.
I'm sure this happens to many of us. When do you stay the course and say to yourself, no that isn't what you were looking for. And when do you just accept that you blindly love the item and tell yourself you will find ways to wear it because it appeals to you on an emotional gut level, rather than filling predetermined criteria?

Here is what is going on in my brain right now with the dress in pic 1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/110719.....1497.l2649 Yes, it is more of a dressy, cocktail dress, and not a casual day dress that you were looking for. BUT, it would easily replace both your eyelet dress that's starting to look too young on you (pic 2) and your black strapless that is so tight even after alterations that you can't imagine sitting for a meal with that boning in your ribs (pic 3).
Am I rationalizing with myself or does this make actual sense? Do you do this, too? Which side wins? And if it's the "I love it, I'm buying it" side - does it pan out or do you have orphans bought this way?
