Shopping rant...LOFT jeans with messed up pockets.

Cute jeans, right? I bought two pairs of the rinse wash online (they're not carried in stores), and was sooooooo excited when they arrived and fit great! However...o

The pocket placement on both pairs is WAY, WAY off. I mean, one pocket is higher than the other, and one is way farther away from the side seam than the one on the other side. BOTH pairs are like this. Basically, they make my butt look totally lopsided (and yes, I checked....the jeans have the same problem when lying flat on the floor, so it's NOT my butt). I had this same problem with a pair of LOFT jeans I bought (and returned) last year, and these new jeans are both "off" in the same way; are all their jeans like this?? Why?? I thought maybe I was nuts but I actually compared them to my other jeans (including my cheapo Target jeans), and those pockets were all...normal.
It just really upsets me that one of the few retail that sells my size (00p-0p) got my hopes up by offering jeans at an expensive price that are just total garbage. I had totally gotten my hopes up. Really disappointed. My $23 Target jeans are made better. Just wanted to rant.

ETA Pics of pockets. Pic 2 shows how to left butt pocket (righthand side in my upside-down pic) sits higher than the right, and also how the outside edge of one pocket lines up with the belt loop, and the other pocket does not. Pics 3 and 4 really show the discrepancy in distance between top of right pocket and side seam vs. top of left pocket and side seam; note how much closer to the rivet the top of the pocket is in pic 4.

That's so frustrating! I just got a pair of eans there and didn't even look at the pockets! Need to check my pair now. Hope they are able to make it right for you.

@Kathy check yours and tell me how it goes. I'm dying to know if this is a problem with ALL their jeans, or maybe just all the petite sizes?? I find it weird that I had the exact same problem with a pair last year (those were flares, and these are bootcuts, so I know they're not just re-using a bad pattern or something).

I noticed long ago that the quality of LOFT items ordered online is a lot worse than the quality you can purchase in the store. I'm not sure why that is. I discovered this when I went online to duplicate a pair of slacks I had purchased at LOFT. I purchased the exact same item, same color, size, everything and had it shipped to me. The ones I rec'd in the mail were shoddy ... cheaper material... sloppy seaming...

Lesson? Purchase only in the stores.

Otherwise, it's a shame because those jeans fit you well!

@Shiny actually I've noticed the same thing about Old Navy....quality of online jeans I ordered there were way worse than the ones in the store. In that case, the "Old Navy" logo was just printed on the back (inside) rather than embroidered like the ones in the store that I'd tried on. They also fit baggier (returned those too). It sucks because there is basically NO selection of petite items in the stores.

Not the best quality control on those jeans for sure. They are a great fit and wash so hope you can get some with decent pockets.

Well I returned the jeans to the store and the clerk acted like she couldn't tell they were crooked. Yeah right, even my husband noticed and he doesn't care at all about clothes! Anyway, just for fun I looked at the same jeans in-store (the dark color is not carried in stores, though); they have varying degrees of crooked pockets. The skinnies (at least the ones I looked at) did not appear to have this problem, at least not so much that I noticed it on the rack. Screw 'em! I found a great pair at Banana Republic. I have to order them online to get a discount, so I don't have them yet. You can see them here:

Although I do not consider myself to be very curvy at all, they DO fit slightly looser on the hips than my other BR jeans (which is actually a good thing, imho). I'll post pics when I get them.

I looked at my pair of jeans and the pockets look ok. They are a size 4 petite and I bought them at a loft outlet. I hear you on the frustration of buying petite sizes in store ... Selection is usually horrible.

I would expect better quality control from Loft than that!

I'm quite despondent that my local BR petites store just became a BR for men store. This was one of the original petite-only stores. I can't tell you how much $ I spent in there over the years! They moved petites to a small section of the woman's store. Such a small section. Too small. So sad.

If you are a 00p or 0p, you have it a lot tougher than I do, as a 2p-4p. I feel your pain!

How bizarre! Dang, they would look so good otherwise. What is the retail world coming to?

The pair I got were the skinnies. Weird that the bootcuts are all like that. Good to know for future reference. Hope the BR ones work out better for you.
