I like online shopping as it often ends up saving me an incredible amount of money as many shops in Ireland are British shops which sell the same dress for much more in the euro price than it would be when simply converted from sterling to euro.
However if I can use my student discount in most shops, I don't bother with online shopping as it would cost the same with the student discount or the online cost and postage from the UK.
However, a couple of things really put me off shopping online. Inaccurate representations of colour really annoy me, especially as my laptop has been calibrated correctly for colour so it's really annoying when the item you receive is a completely different colour to what is the website. I don't understand how companies, particularly Asos, get this completely wrong as I have managed to accurately represent the colours of my outfits using a mid-range SLR and minimal photo editing (exposure adjustment, cropping and resizing) on my blog.
The other thing that bothers me is when they don't give measurements or lengths. While the description for a dress might say knee-length, who does that measurement relate to? A 5'10" model or 5'2" woman?
However, I have to commend the Figleaves website for its usability. I can sort by my bra size, what type of underwear I want, the style of cup I want, the material I want and the price. Their sales assistants are also so friendly and helpful.
I've had mixed experiences with Asos. While they have a huge range of clothes on their website, I have had a couple of bad experiences with them. In the summer, I ordered a ivory waistcoat which was on sale from them and it was absolutely covered in dirt, pen marks and just not in a good condition. I emailed them about it and they eventually got a new one back to me but charged me for the return of the waistcoat and shipping on the new waistcoat. I lost the savings I made on the waistcoat in postage fees. In November, I ordered a pair of grey shoes from them and they sent me the wrong size and I had to pay for their return as well. I cancelled my order with them for shoes in the new size.
