shopping for new glasses - opinions requested

Hi,
I have just started looking for new glasses. I got my eye exam at Walmart, so that is where I started my search. I have photos of 4 pairs I liked.

I like the Oleg Cassini the best. Just seem to fit your face good.

The Cover Girl are too dark I think.

The Oscars are okay, a little crooked, but adjusting could make them tons better.

The Lifestyles make you look older for some reason.

Make sure you let us know which pair you end up with if any.

Shoot...those are the ones I like the best too, and unfortunately, the bows are colored. They are light yellow, pink and brown - sort of an inlay type look. I just don't think I can do it. I don't think I would be happy with the colored bows, I would feel like they clash with my clothes!

Thanks for all the other tips shannon. That is exactly the type of feedback I am hoping for.

There is a new eye glass place in my small little town. They have Tiffany & Co., D&G, Prada, etc. I will stop in there and try on some more.

I’m glad you’re sorting out your specs, Susan! It’s so worthwhile.

I’m afraid that I’m going to say that none of them work. I'm sorry to be negative (sad face). You need softer frames. These are all generally too heavy and dark. Perhaps you need frames with nose pads – did you try any of those and are you open to the idea?

Absolutely Angie - I am completely open. I thought those were what would look best on me, but I have no idea whatsoever.

If you are willing to give me suggestions, I am 100% open!
I don't normally wear my hair pulled back, it usually hangs around my face.

Angie - if possible, I would love to know your recommendation on glasses for me. You say I need a less heavy frame - would that be something rim-less then??

Yes! Thanks for being open minded, Susan.

Try colourful metal frames. No black or brown, and stay away from bulky plastic for the moment. You are after finer frames. Have a look at the Bevel collection online (unfortunately they won’t let me link to individual styles):

Thanks Angie! I soooooooo appreciate your help! I will try on more pairs and post pictures later in the week.

I have to confess though...I am a bit afraid of colored frames (not black or brown) because I am going to feel they need to "match" with my outfit. But I will GET OVER IT and give it a whirl!

So far everything I have learned from YLF has created very positive changes in the way I dress, etc.
