Shopping for new corporate life

In a post a few weeks or even months ago I mentioned some new items I bought. I needed them anyway, but they were also for the new job I start in a week. I had some requests for pictures, and here they finally are.

Comments welcome
1. Red coat. Also has a faux fur collar not shown
2. White funnel neck knit top
3.White buttondown shirt
4-6 Black cardi

All very basic really!

ETA Do you think the shoes in pic 1 are okay for a corporate job? I bought them for my current job. I own some black MJ heels I wore for my interview but I don't think I could last a full day in them.

Hi Anne, I miss you! You are looking gorgous, I really like your hair this length, it is very flattering:) Love your basics. The coat is lovely! Nice colour. The funnel neck looks good, I like the way the neck scunches. The white shirt looks to be good fit and I like the detail... much better than the very sheer one you tried out. Black cardi, great, it is a basic but pretty necessary I think. Great selection.

So have you now moved?

I leave town on Thursday. one day of work and two packing days before that. we have a long weekend holiday, then I start work on next Monday. DH will come back and do the final pack.

Nice to see you, Anne. These look like good basics to start your corporate wardrobe. I love the coat for you. Red is best!! So cheering in the drab winter months.

The red coat is great! I have never worked in a corporate job but to my eye he shoes are fine/ Are they flat or have a small heel? Heel would make them even more appropriate.
The sweater, shirt and cardigan look like good basics.
I have to second the opinion that I love your new hair and the specs - you look lovely!

I missed this thread at first, but I'm glad I caught it. I wondered how your transition was progressing! The coat is marvelous, and you're wise to start with crisp, polished basics like these! Have you tried the shirt tucked?

This all looks great Anne!
You will be able to wear your longer hair tied back in the warmer weather too. The shoes in pic 1 look fine. Must have comfy shoes for 8hr days.

Basics are... Basic! Yours look great. Easy to add items and accessories as needed. In fact I'm making a big effort to get "back to basics", as my wardrobe was getting too diffuse and complicated for outfit creation , so I find your outfits refreshing.
