Shopping for Ankle Booties...Opinions Needed

Last week, I posted my 2014 spring/summer shopping list, but this weather is making it impossible for me to actually make a spring purchase. Of the two purchases I made this month, one item was from my FALL 2014 shopping list and the other was an impulse buy. Since I can't think spring just yet, I'm considering adding another item from my fall shopping list: a pair of versatile light colored ankle booties. I need to be able to wear them with my cream skinnies and my camel Express Columnist trousers for starters.

Two considerations:

What do you ladies think? Anyone have experience with either of these or with the brands?

The first are very much like the Sam Edelman python Petty booties that several of us have. They would work really well into spring with cream skinnies and camel trousers.

I love my VC slipper flats. Soooo comfy and cute.

I like the first boot. It reminds me of my Sam Edelman Pettys that I love and look great with my light colored trousers.

I like the idea of #2 better because I don't much care for animal prints. But having now seen many ladies rocking the SE python booties, I think #1 would be great for Spring.

Both of these are great. I think the real question would be comfort, but also -- are those taupe ones light enough to read as "light"? That would be key.

I think several people here also have Vince Camutos -- they're a copy of the SE Pettys and look good. Those who have them say they are comfortable.

What I like about the Pettys (or these) is they look good with white, cream, black, black and white, grey ...and also denim. So if thos neutrals figure heavily in your closet, they would work really well.

For me, taupe is a fabulous bookender to my hair but for you I think you'd need to think if it would work well with the rest of your wardrobe.

I have the VC Tricera, they were a Christmas present. They are very comfortable and versatile!

Good food for thought, Suz. As far as comfort, any bootie I choose will be a wait and see, because I have fussy feet. Both colors would work with my wardrobe, and I see your point about the taupe not being very light. I think I've come to consider anything that isn't black or very dark brown as light. I would love to try the Pettys, but my size (7) is gone. Perhaps I'll stalk to see if they are restocked.

Karie, thanks for reminding me! I knew I'd seen them on someone here and had even commented about how much I liked them, but I couldn't remember who it was.

Both are visually fab. It's all about the comfort level. I'd order the SE Pettys too - because I know those are comfy. Then you can compare the brands.
