Shopping ban until NAS

I have made a deal with myself: Now that I'm making a steady income again, I'm going to join in on the NAS craze for the first time in my whole YLF history! BUT only if I can be a good girl and not go shopping until then. The only exception I'm making is for the Me Too Linda flats since basic comfy flats are something I have been searching the ends of the earth for. Most of what I want right now definitely going to be worth waiting for though, since it is almost entirely fall-based (killer boots, a new cascading cardi, cascading/flyaway/whatever you call it vest, tailored short shorts, tons of hosiery, and a tailored boyfriend blazer).

Honestly it's not much of a shopping ban. I just made a haul at UO (though most of it was socks and stuff to wear under sheer or lightweight dresses),

Anyone else saving their pennies?

Good strategy. Your very favourite comfy boots were orginally found at the NAS, even though you got yours on ebay.

I've been saving my NAS pennies for a while. This is my biggest shopping damage of the year. Dominant season!

I wish I had a dominant season! It would be so much easier to just focus on one season. Instead I need equal amounts of stuff for all four seasons (though I try my best to combine fall and spring as much as I can...).

My cocktail dress wasn't cheap, but I'm determined to swing a couple of really top-knotch Nas purchases if people are willing to help me out again *blush*

NAS is Nordstrom Annual Sale...every year this time...pre fall stuff at great prices:)

I'll join in on your ban Maya, now that I found white jeans I am set for summer. Umm, just how long is this ban going to be? A month? And I agree, 4 season dressing can be a pain in the bum.

I need to be on a shopping ban until NAS. I want to continue weeding out my closet to see what I really need and want. I also want to save some $$ to make sure I can have the right clothes and shoes to pack in a carry-on for my trip to Italy in September, not to mention the shopping there!

July 16...not nearly long enough!! Ack!!

I'm with you, Maya. I'm pretty much set for summer and while I don't need much for fall and don't have a list a this point, I'd like to have a few pennies available in case I find something special that's warm fallish appropriate.

Its great to hear about the NAS! I desperately need new Fall clothing and after hearing such nice things about Nordstroms here, Im anxious to check it out! Now all I need to figure out is how to get some serious shopping money....

That's ok Rosie. I'm not much of a bag lady anyway! I don't get as disappointed by bag loss as I do by clothing or shoe loss.

I am looking forward to NAS, too. I'd join in on the ban, but realistically I won't even be able to do any shopping until then anyway. I literally have gone into stores only a couple times in the last 2 months, each time for 20 min. I hope you guys feel sorry for me

I'm preselecting on the 6th. And will have my uber stylish Sister in law from London here on the day the sale starts on the 16th. She wears a size US14 or 16 and I can't wait to dress her and see what she picks out. We are going to have so much fun!

Maya, you need a Nordies card to pre-select. The Seattle flagship (where I preselect) is very strict about the fact that you need a card to preselect, but I remember last year that there were YLF forum member preselecting without cards in less strict branches.

I'll formalize my NAS report back through a blog post on 16th because that's when I can link to the stuff online. But I'll be preselecting with clients untill the 9th so I'll have a very good idea of what's available in all departments.

I really hope it's a good sale. Two years ago the sale was good, but last year the sale was killer. And I did major, major damage :0(

Also, remember that if you score two or three killer items from the sale, you've done really well. This is a sale about quality and uniqueness - as far as possible!

Oh boy, I can't wait. I have always felt so overwhelmed with that sale in the past, but this will be my first NAS after finding YLF so I'm anxious to experience it with some of my newly acquired shopping skills, and hopefully some suggestions from you, Angie!

(I have been a really good girl lately, have kept shopping to a minimum in expectation of this sale)

I'm probably not going to look for either the cardigan or the vest there for that reason. I like the Express short shorts, though I'd rather they had pleats, so that one is still up in the air. I'm mostly interested in boots and a blazer of sorts (strong shoulder or tailored boyfriend...either way). I'm not happy with my boot collection at all and since I wear them for 8 months out of the year, that probably isn't good. I'd be happy to come away with 2 killer pairs of boots and nothing else.
