I will be in a shopping ban until 1st June 2012!
My winter wardrobe is now complete and I was buying things I don't need! Promotions have started early this year and that is always such a temptation for me!
My daughter told me "mother, you have a problem" and that hurt me so much, so I'm proving I don't!
I'm confident I'll manage until the summer with what I have!
We made a bet! We wont buy until 1st June 2012 and we are all saving!

Good luck! I think I will join you, although maybe not until June 1st. This week I will work out a suitable "ban time" but it will be at least until the end of January. I'm tempted to go back to a local discount place that had tons of clothes on sale for £3 or less (I even got a pair of jeans for 50p!) but after my fight with my husband this morning I've kind of lost the desire to shop.

Now I just have to sustain that feeling for as long as possible...

Rute best of luck with the shopping ban You have a wonderful wardrobe so I am sure you will manage well. Thanks to Angie, my desire to shop is less and I am enjoying the clothes I have so much more.

Good luck Rute! It helps to unsubscribe to any store email lists your are on and just stay out of the shops.

I know you can do it, rute! Your daughter should meet my daughter. The other day she said "You really like spending money, don't you?" Yikes, not the best message to be projecting to a 3rd grader.

I think it is a healthy thing to be able to say "I'm done shopping for this season. I have everything I need." and then to quit buying more.

I'm not on a shopping ban, but I do feel that I've pretty much finished filling in my wardrobe holes, so I don't plan to shop any more for the winter season.

For spring/summer on the other hand... I know I'll need some things to round out my wardrobe, and they'll be in the stores soon.

Good for you Rute! I hope you will still have fun finding new combinations in your closet and allow yourself a pair of tights or something if really needed.

Please post WIW's too! I so enjoy yours; perhaps you can fill the time by channeling your energies more in that area! You can do this! *waving pompons*

Your wardrobe is up to the challenge! There is no doubt in my mind.

Also, I think it's nice that your daughter feels comfortable saying that to you. Even though it wasn't the most fun to hear, our true friends/loved ones will tell us when we are slipping, right? I would have been too scared to question my mother.

My sincerely condoleances:-))-I'm really considerring this to myself, too...(have done it in winter 2009 for a few months(cca4,5) but than I couldn't resist and late spring I gave in:-)). Knowing your wardrobe, it won't hurt that much...and who knows, will force you to be even more creative!!

When I have to SMC, I try my best to stay far away from shopping malls and outlets. Once I'm in, I'm done.
