Shopper style bag with no zippers :)

I am totally perplexed by this trend here. The stores are filled with such bags. A big shopper with no compartments and no zippers. How does anyone use them? Just stuff everything in?

Or am I being naive

I agree. I'd constantly fear for my wallet, keys and phone with a bag like this. Not to speak of the digging around you have to do. I don't know how others do it (you see those bags here too).

I'm also a little baffled by this, Ramya. And would constantly be checking to see if everything was still in the bag. I also wonder about rain, doesn't everything get wet?

Speaking from personal experience, I used to like those bags for commuting by bus because I could shove everything in there. A pickpocket would have to get through my lunch and change of clothes before he got my wallet. Now I don't mind them because no one is pickpocketing me in my car.

My DH is a little too careful so if I took it out when I am with him not only would I be checking, so would he:)
I did see some real cute ones. May be I should give one a try as the shoving bag when I travel to India:)

I shove everything in mine too - I have a fleece blanket rolled up, a scarf, a pair of tights, my overnight bag ... if someone stole my bag they'd be sore to find out that my wallet isn't in there.

I got a nice one for Christmas, I just don't worry about it because when I'm carrying it, it's closed, when I sit it down, I slouch it closed. The benefit for me is that I can load it for work if needed and not worry about busting out a zipper. The day that I wore the poncho to work, it wouldn't fit under my coat, so I draped it over the tote and carried it in that way. Sometimes I remember to put in my little bags, but most times, I just dump everything in.
