Laura, yes, it is job related...a temporary drop in income.
My tastes in bags tend to be very simple, artisanal. Last summer I bought one from a French company, it was a black tote, that I have used so much. This year, I got a brief case type one, in brown. Here's the link: http://vdc-boutique.blogspot.c.....ourlaliane
Not everyone's cup of tea, but right up my alley. (they are an interesting family company, started by the older sister while she was in medical school, and she began sewing her youngest sisters clothes, linen type ones, and selling them online. Now they do adult ones too, and the bags as well).
It is getting easier not to shop. It feels like it's my new normal now. But on the other hand, I do like getting new things, I really do and sometimes I miss that. But the break is making me realize what it is I really do need. I see too that I could go longer without buying lots of lesser priced things and spend a bigger chunk on more expensive things, which I've tried to do more of in recent years, but not for this long.
Your SYC challenge is helping me not feel so "deprived", thank you!
Oh, and that's very impressive that you cleaned under your kitchen sink! Bravo!
