Hi! Sorry I've been MIA. First the long drive across country and then my internet provider is switching over to new systems and I can't get online until the 12th!! Ugh.
So this is a bit of a drive by post, sorry.
I have still only bought the Frye boots and no other purchases so far. I haven't yet even gotten my hangers I was looking forward to! All the purging before the move has made for more room in the closet and that is so nice.
I am not yet working and so most of my days have been loungewear and PJ's so far. But the few times I went out I got to use some of my boots and coats - yay, finally!
I will have a chance to log back in tonight at a friend's house so I can't wait to see how everyone is doing. Missed you all!

I have been wondering about you! I so admire your SYC/SYB! I can't seem to do it myself, just always wanting new, new new.

They have closed the road into Yosemite Valley so our business is coming to a screeching halt. 6 weeks of repairs, give or take. Which usually means, it will take (longer). We might even close for a bit, so I might come up to Tahoe for a visit.

Hi Denise! So funny that winter never came . . . until we got home lol. Been in the house for the last 4 days just watching the snow come down. We squeezed right through the time frame for bad weather across a lot of the country - whew.
I think I will continue to do okay with my SYC since I had little opportunity to wear my warmer items in FL. But I can see some holes already lol. But not having work sure helps keep your wallet shut tight, that's for sure!
Would be fun to see you if you head this way

Bet you are looking forward to the 12th! I feel so diconnected when I don't have internet access! SYC and SYB are things I am trying to adhere to. I have to keep telling myself to really plan out my purchases!

Welcome back!!!

SYC was a bust for me. First a trench coat showed up at Gap that I had to try, so it's on the way. Then Target at the perfect inexpensive striped tees I've been wanting. And today I'm running by Target again because they have skirts that fit in my budget and will help my "dress up for something other than a funeral" capsule. So I guess I'm doing SYB. I'm still filling wardrobe holes. Everything in my closet/dresser except for socks has been purchased since last April. Yikes.

Yay for the update! I had been wondering if you had met with moving disaster - It is great to know you made it. I think of you every time I wear my Julias, which I wouldn't have bought if I'd never seen your IRL pics.

As for SYC, I'm doing great. The thing is that shopping for work is getting more and more frustrating. I know what I *want* and "need,* but I am coming up short on a few things. I have pants fabric, but haven't started pattern making yet. I also want a Spring trench for work and a trip, but I haven't found the perfect one. So when I spot stuff I love but don't need, it makes me extra irritable, lol. Probably part of the control freak in me.

If Denise goes your way, I hope you guys can meet! I can attest that she is even more fabulous in person.

So glad you arrived safely! Doing without internet can make a person go crazy; how did we ever get along without it. Anyway, congrats on your SYC. I hope you can post some pics of you wearing a coat in the snow. That would be fun! We miss you here and can't wait for you to get back online!

I've been pretty good, mainly because I've been to busy to shop. I did buy a 686 snow jacket when we were up there but that was at DH's suggestion. It's more gear than clothes though. I am keeping busy with posting WIWs for my new YLF blog so that is keeping me distracted.

Tonight I went to J Crew to return a dress and tried on a couple of items (including Angie's emerald stripe shirt!!) but I was good and didn't get anything. Mainly because I didn't realize how expensive their stuff is! $300 for a pair of printed pants? I think I could find something similar at H&M. Actually, they just opened a TJ Maxx nearby and I'm dying to go check it out, but I'm worried I would be tempted to buy stuff.

GP -- I just found two really cute printed button down shirts in spring colors at TJ Maxx for 9.99 each! TJ Maxx is a great place to SYB, $100 buys a lot of stuff there. As MaryK would say...

Malina, I have to see if my bf has any time to come with me. And I need to count my money. I've spent a lot on renovations and of course ... shopping for clothes. However this is my one and only chance to get away before the summer onslaught. I'll keep you posted.

Glad to hear your move went ok. While you were driving I did a week 8 check in here. And then I crashed and burned here. Needless to say with a few new items in my grasp I think I will make out ok to SYC in March. Often our weather in March swings a lot from cold to warm so I will (hopefully) get chances to wear some clothes that have sat waiting for warmer days anyway. This will let me feel like I have some "new" things. And I'll take this as an opportunity to get my CPW down just a little more on some winter items before they are pushed aside for the warm weather.

How lovely to get to sit in your cozy digs and watch the snow fall, after being in Florida for so long! Aw, thanks for the warm welcomes back! I am at the library to get a few minutes online. In my Willow & Clay jacket and TR jeans [smile].
I hope to be working start of April so I think I'll manage the next few weeks no problem. I can see the white AE jean jacket becoming mine at the first opportunity and perhaps a black woven shirt and some low heeled black shoes. I seem to have sandals and boots and not much in between lol. Funny how you *think* you have certain things only to find that's not the case at all ha ha. I am also suprised at how much I did purge now that I have both closets together and there is room to spare. I imagine I'll end up on the one a month program once work starts up.
Even though there is snow on the ground, it is back up to high 50's today and tomorrow, so great weather for fall outfits I didn't get much chance to wear. Yay!
I'll post pics once I can.
