Shoe colour for a navy blue gown?

Hi everyone,
I have an outdoor, on grass wedding in September.

I need to know what colour/style of shoes and accessories to match with it please pictures or links very appreciated

Outdoor on grass you will want flats or shoes that will not sink into the sod. How about a color that blends with your skin tones or a metallic? Look at forum member Janet’s recent posts as to what she wore with a dark blue dress for a wedding. She went with metallic gold tones. You will want to be prepared for a chill in September with a wrap or jacket.

What color is your hair? If dark go black for shoes. If light consider nude or metallic. If you are a red head then red. Actually, metallic or red shoes work regardless of your hair color. These are general guidelines -- overall seek shoes you will wear again and that are comfortable. If it's a wedding on the grass you'll want to do a wedge heel.

For clutch I'd go red or pink or green -- pick up a color in the flower details.

Coordinate mani/pedi as well.

I second the suggestions for metallic or nude shoes. Also shoes that won't sink into the ground and limit your movement.

What a gorgeous dress! I would also vote for metallic or nude shoes so that the dress takes the main attention. Are you outdoors for both service and the reception? Wondering if you might want more of a wedge or flat, for the service but a different pair for dancing?

For accessories, I'd keep the focus on some amazing earrings and/or bracelet, and add a clutch in one of the colors of the flowers. You also might want a wrap in one of the lighter colors for later in the evening.

Flowers on your dress for a garden wedding—I like that and would likely continue on that theme.

The skin-colored or metallic shoes mentioned above would make your legs look longer, which many people want. Another route you could take would be to pick up on the red or green for the shoes, then continue the theme with accessories either in those colors or in the shape of plants, maybe like this headband. https://www.sallybeauty.com/ha.....38;start=1

Make sure that what you wear is comfortable for the occasion. Go for flats or, if you want heels, then platforms/wedges (so the bottom of the shoe is flat). There are more likely to be bugs than at an indoor event, so you might want a very light wrap, like voile in the same navy as the dress.

Once you’ve got your outfit on, relax and have a great time at the wedding!

Thank you for your great advice!!! I am a redhead and I do have a love for red shoes but I thought it may be a bit too much? I was thinking silver too or a vintage pink?
So there seems to no rule that the shoes and clutch must match? I had no idea hahaha I really needed you all on this!!

You're right: there's no need for shoes and clutch to match. If you wear silver shoes, I do like the idea of echoing the color with jewelry.

Beautiful dress! For footwear I’d pick up on the indigo of the dress and the shoe style the model is wearing. Then again, red or vintage pink could work too. Aim for a block heel for the lawn. Stuart Weitzman does something similar called Nearly Nude which comes in several colours which are very nice and easy to wear. The complete outfit above looks head turning to my eye. I’d keep the accessories minimal and simple, perhaps a diamond stud earring and ring, and let those flowers do the talking.

Agreeing with previous posters: metallic or nude shoes. Clutch and shoes don't have to match. I would wear silver jewelry if you decide on silver shoes. I would wear a block-heel strappy sandal because of the grass.

I don’t know how to put a find I didn’t make into comments, but there is a pair of block heels sandals in a green that might match the stems/leaves on your dress in Angie’s Sole Society post. I know I’m an outlier here, but I think they might go well with this dress

It looks like the vote is for metallic at the moment, probably silver. I'm still open to the other ideas too, colours that match the flowers could also be very pretty.
