Shoes for San Fransisco May/April?

Would these moto boots be too warm for San Fransisco in the beginning of May? I usually run quite warm on my feet, but these are really comfy for long days with hours of walking.

ETA: shoes with skinnies and skirt

It's cold in SF a lot, so boots should be fine. The wind will break you in the summer if you aren't dressed for it. Plus the hills!!!! This is how they sell those hideous sweaters on the pier! People come thinking it will be warm because it's California but it isn't. It'll be sunny and bright but the fog and wind will be there too!

Thanks Kalli! I was thinking Scandinavian summer, but didn't know about the wind. What do you mean about the hills? Are they surrounding the city so the clouds don't just pass by?

SF gets the ocean breeze and fog since it's right on the ocean and then it's sort of trapped by water on 3 sides. So the wind comes from the east, west and north. The hills are because um... SF is no where near flat unless you don't want to see the best sights of the city. Best to wear comfy walking shoes, I don't see how girls manage heels in this city, probably why I carry them in my bag and change into them.

Great advice, Kalli! I'm taking notes I love meandering by foot whenever I'm traveling and that means hour and hour of walking every day. I don't mind hills either.

I challenge you to walk Lombard street! Historically they had to use a cable pulley system to pull the trolley up the hill instead of electric because a few hills in SF like these are good exercise but will make you so winded that sometimes I had people clapping when I tried to bike up it.

SF has boots weather year round so you'll be good. Just make sure your shoes are really comfortable because walking is the way to go

Thanks for input, Kalli and Gabi! I'm really excited to go and Lombard street looks like heavy exercise, especially by bike

AJ - I got the boots in Tromsø, Norway and I don,t remember the brand, but it was Spanish. I can check later

ETA: the brand is Felonioni. I've never heard of it. The boots are hand washed and hand painted and will probably get an "old" finish when used much
