Shoes for flares

Cool to see that flares are coming back! I do love a nice-fitting pair of flares, but worn with heels because they look stumpifying otherwise at my 5'3" height.

In particular, I like the look of 4" heels with flares, but for that I need to wear platforms (I can't really wear heels over 2").

I seem to recall reading here that wedge platforms are out, or near on their way. How can I get the height I need to pull of flares? Or can I just wear my platform wedges, since they are basically completely covered by the pants hem anyhow?

Yes, to your question.

I love pointy toe heels with flares. Or boots with a 1.5 to 2 inch heel. (That's why bootcuts were created). I don't like to wear flats with flares either. Flats go hand in hand with structure - which means tapered legs or bare legs.

I am planning to wear my wedges, since they are covered like you said. I have a feeling more platform options should be around to go with the upsurge in flared legs, too.

I wear my platform EF booties with my long flared jeans. They have around a 0.75" platform and 3.25" total heel height. They look similar to the Rag and Bone boots, only the platform makes them wearable for me.

I suspect that you can get away with more severe platforms with flares since the pants (when PPL) will cover most of the platform/wedge anyway so you wouldn't be able to see it.

Am contemplating something like this, too. Not 100% my style, but at about a 2.25" pitch much more comfy and still provides height. Have not pulled trigger yet.

Ooo, the Litas! There is something about those shoes -- they are a bit clown-like but purposefully exaggerated so look kinda cool. I tried on a pair awhile back, can't remember what I thought at the time. May have to revisit.

Yeah, I agree, especially with my Sasquatch feet. But if hidden under flares... I have to remember to try on at lunchtime.

I wear 2-3" heels or heeled booties with my flares, either almond or pointy toe (I much prefer pointy toes though). In the summer I also wear sandals with small platforms which works well. I think wearing your platform wedges would be just fine!
