Today I decided to declutter my collection of non-jeans trousers. I came across this pair of bold patterned ankle length pants, courtesy of Mom. Since I have them already I figured I might as well try them out, but I don't know if I have the right shoes.
This is what I currently have at my disposal that might work:
1-2: red peep toe wedges. The fact that the lower part of the shoe is tan colored makes this seem a bit off to me if the rest of the outfit is black and white.
3-4: strappy sandals. These are some sort of "comfort" brand -- do they look too much like orthopaedic shoes?
5: black canvas wedges. The raffia heels make them seem off to me again, given the high-contrast black and white trousers. But not as much as the red ones.
6: grey-ish gladiator sandals. The trousers are long enough that they cover the top part of the sandals when I stand straight. Are my trousers too long, or just too long to wear with these shoes?
I'm thinking of wearing these to an upcoming event, but it will involve being on my feet a lot and even though these are all pretty low heels, I'm not sure that any of them are suitable. Can you wear flats with trousers like this? What style?
