Shoes and Boots K/R and questions

I just got an order of shoes in the mail. I really need a nice pair of comfy shoes for work that are fashionable but don't look like matronly shoes. I have two pairs that I usually wear, a pair of pumps from Clarks and a wedge pair from Aerosoles. Unfortunately, the Aerosoles are not as comfy as I hoped they would be. The Clarks are comfortable but I'm questioning how stylish they are. I would like a pair that would work with trousers or skirts.

So here is what I got:

1-2. Aerosole Cheery Tomato Pump
Not sure about the pointy toes ...

3-4. indigo by Clarks Women's Town Club Pump'
The heels on this are a bit high for me at 2.75 inches.

5-7. Fidji E783 pumps
I like these the best, but they are brown. I was really looking for black shoes, but I wanted to try out the Fidji brand. What do you think of brown shoes with black pants? It's not something that I usually do. I have slightly more black and gray pants, but I do have brown/tan pants that I can pair them with.

8-9. Frye Veronica Slouch Boots

I have been wanting a pair of Frye boots for a year! I They fit pretty well but there is a lot of heel slippage when I walk. Is that normal? I wore them with a pair of socks and a shoe insert which helped a little but my heel moved a lot. They are pretty comfy, but the leather is pretty stiff.

So, what do you all think? Any of these worth keeping? Thanks for looking

I like 5 - 7. I have found that when my heal slips in a boot or shoe, I end up with blister then never wear them again.

I love the brown ones on you. What colour is your hair & do you wear brown clothing/belts/accessories? If you do have brown hair or wear brown then I think the brown would be great.

I like the Fidjis the best for shape and style. However, for me personally, the color would be a dealbreaker. I never wear dark brown and every pair of dark brown shoes I've ever had has become an orphan. I don't technically mind brown and black together but I like the brown to be lighter so there is higher contrast.

I'm not crazy about the other two pairs of pumps - they both look slightly unbalanced in shape to me, especially the first pair.

I think the boots look good! I have many pairs of boots that slip in the heel and it's never been a problem for me - in fact I think heel slippage is inevitable in this type of pull-on boot, since otherwise you can't get them on at all. I ALWAYS wear socks in my boots though, so if you like to go sockless I can't offer any advice. You just have to get used to walking in them - if you ever wear danskos or other clog-like shoes you probably know how to walk in them anyway.

I loved the clarks and the boots. But also the fidji ..which surprises me as they are not my usual style...so I say keep fidji and boots

I like the last shoe the best with number 2 close behind, but like Diana the colour would not work for me, unless they were more cognac. I love the boots - I have the exact same ones and the heel slips a bit but improves over wearing.

Diana, I agree about the others looking unbalanced somehow, especially the clarks. I tried the Fidjis with black pants, and it just felt off to me but I wasn't sure if it was a psychological thing. Prior to YLF, I had brown and black shoes and that was it. Now I'm experimenting with other colors, but I don't think brown shoes with black pants will work for me. I guess I'm not used to clogs, but I will wear the Fryes around the house with socks to see how it goes.

I might keep the Fidjis for a little while and see how they work with my brown/tan pants.

I don't love any of the first pairs but I might be biased or something, so don't listen to me here.

I dislike pairings of black&brown, and especially with shoes and pants.

As for the boots, I have a similar pair in cognac, and as lovely as they are, they don't fit my feet. I can wear them for a couple of hours, but they are not half as comfy as my black riding boots, and they were quite pricey. It's the style. I have heel slippage too. Mine are hard on the soles, do not bend very well and need insoles and thick socks to work for me. As much as I like them, I regret getting them, so if you don't think they will be comfortable for you, I would return.

PS: I bought my boots in my normal size, then went back to the store and sized down. They are shorter on my very slim feet but still too big overall.

I really want to love the fryes. I think I have 90 days to return with amazon so I will walk around the house (with a/c turned up!) and see how they feel. I don't think sizing down will help because they fit fine in toe area with socks.

Yes, heel slippage is normal. Personally, I love my heels to slip in boots. I find the room very comfortable. You can add an insert if you like. Love the Fryes on you!

I like all the other shoes too! Not loving the brown Fidjis with the black pants though.
