Shoes and Boots!

So, I found the following couple of items as I have been looking to update my footwear.

I am finding I like dresses and skirts more and have gone from wearing them never to about 50% of the time at work. Not at home as toddler wrangling really requires jeans.

Anyway, looking for YLF thoughts on these. I like them, but I am worried I may have sale goggles on. Also wondering if I should just wait on boots until next fall. I am not familiar with the brands: Gentle Souls, Amalfi and sixtyseven.

Is the weather in your area now in full blown spring mode Thistle? I think if it's really warming up, I would personally pass on buying any boots at this time as you're going to want to be in shoes as it will be too warm for boots.

I like the shoes you've linked to in #2 but don't know the brand so cannot speak to quality or fit. Are you wanting the shoes to work just with your dresses or with both dresses and trousers?

I second Shannon - hold off buying boots right now. The Amalfis are excellent quality shoes. They are very classic - is this where your style is heading? I know you've been trying to add some interesting footwear, and these may not give you the look you want. If returns are easy though they might be worth trying to see if you like the quality and fit of this brand.

You know, I think of your style Thistle as being more... polished. Do you want to go in a more gritty, RATE direction?

I am looked for polished with some feminine thrown in. I prefer versatile pieces that can work with a lot (don't we all!), but my two pair of knee high boots are basically just for skirts and dresses.

So, passing on the boots.

Returns are easy, so maybe I will give the shoes a try.

I was looking for boots too but have decided to put it off now that spring (or something like that) is on its way. The boots in #3 are especially attractive. I wonder if a style like that has a longer shelf life than the distressing and heel detail in #1? Not that it's the same, but that concept kind of reminds me of my mom's approach to shopping at someplace like Kmart, back in the day when there was a stigma attached. Buy plain so others won't recognize the pattern and where it came from.

Have fun wrangling that toddler of yours. My husband and I were at Wendy's for lunch yesterday and saw a cute little fellow about 1. It made me yearn for grandkids, but I'm afraid I'm going to be an old grandma because there doesn't seem to be a chance of that happening anytime soon.

Maybe a pair of western style boots for wrangling? LOL
I would also wait on the boots unless you have had one in mind and are waiting to pounce on a good price. That is how I got my Frye's after waiting several years.

If a pair of Aquatalias dropped in my lap, I wouldn't say no!

Been doing some thinking, and maybe I haven't pulled the trigger because they are kind of bland. I am liking some Sam Edelman shoes out there, but and their booties are comfy . . . .

Gentle Souls is really nice brand, I ogle them in the Garnet Hill catalog. And i love the boots. But i would not pull the trigger on anything unless they are both a need and a love.

I think with your new love of dresses you should try some jersey dresses/tunics with leggings for toddler-wrangling! Very comfortable, and they won't restrict you when lying on the floor building blocks etc!

Love the shoes! I hope they work for you!
