Went out to Nordstrom tonight to see about the shoes. Nordstrom still rules. Without question they took the shoes that weren't working off my hands. The girl who helped me was so sweet and nice. She brought out a stack of shoes for me to try on, to try and find me what I was wanting.
It turns out, by the way, that I maybe didn't get the size I thought I was getting. I didn't even notice. The shoes I wanted were in European sizes. I wear a 9.5/10 U.S., which is normally quoted as 39.5/40 but more frequently corresponds to 40.5/41. So when they called in the order, there was maybe some confusion there.
Last little bit: I am happy to say I found the receipt and didn't quite spend $1000. After the death of luxury discussion, I was feeling ashamed that I'd displayed extremely poor judgement. I can now report I only displayed poor judgement. Lol. There are a lot of very similar shoes that have come out on the market now... not quite as sharp, but half the price.
So anyways, I hope the shoe faery looks kindly upon me and the new pair they're sending work!
